It’s actually a good sofa. Really comfortable for leisure time. For me I have used for 6 months and the foam was intact. Comfort is great. Also it’s very broad so you can sleep easily. The only demerit is that you have to sit very low - so getting up frequently can be a problem .

Yes it’s secure to use without the side handles. But if you want to be 100% sure you can get the side support. It’s completely custom.
