If I didn't already have my perfect bag id seriously consider this. The bottom shoe access pocket is a big seller for me. For the price this is amazing.
@PackingLess4 жыл бұрын
It really is great for the price. What bag are you using now as your perfect bag?
@SteezyG4 жыл бұрын
@@PackingLess I'm very reluctant to share as the less people know the more inconspicuous my bag is haha! It's actually the Sterkmann expandable backpack. The level of quality for the price is amazing. It's heavy but the easy to access pockets, waterproof coating and expandable size make it my favourite daily bag. Great for work trips too as I can compress it and it doesn't look bulky.

Great review, did not think of ikea as a serious bag contender until now!

Yeh they've had some backpacks in the past but this is the first one that really looks like they're getting serious

Great walk around video of showing all of the compartment. Have you seen the new DRÖMSÄCK weekend bag by IKEA?
@PackingLess4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yeah I did have a look at everything in their new collection but this one stood out as being the nicest styling to me. I'm not a huge fan of rolltops but I might end up reviewing more in the range if people are interested.

I wonder how their new weekender bag performs! Would love if you could give it a try! It's the DRÖMSÄCK

Interesting bag. With pockets on the back panel, do you think that items there might be pushing into your back? For example if there are harder items like chargers and at the same time you don't have laptop on the back panel.
@PackingLess4 жыл бұрын
I dont think that you'd feel things poking through even without a laptop because the padding is really quite thick on that rear panel.

Such a nice back pack 😊hiking friendly

Yeah could be used for many situations. I'll be testing it as a hiking bag for the full review

The compression straps look a bit flappy. would there be some solution to keep them more in place? Great review as always!
@PackingLess4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I thought that too, I think a bit of double sided velcro might hold them down

I wished you would have made a 7 kgs travel load out video with this bag
@PackingLess3 жыл бұрын
I still have it. I do plan to do a video along the lines of 'bag weight and how it affects the weight of your overall pack weight' and will show a 6 or 7kg packing list in various bags to show the final weight
@erikdupont5543 жыл бұрын
@@PackingLess that would be interesting. I also want to suggest something like tech organization. Meaning, what to bring during travel for charging your tech, minimalist camera. Would just a cell phone do it or more tech is needed like tablet or laptop. Things like that

Which compression pack do you suggest for this backpack? IKEA? Or maybe Amazon basic?

What do you mean? Packing cubes? I think the ikea packing cubes are really great for the price

@@PackingLess yes, packing cubes
@ejm57074 жыл бұрын
They have new packing cubes to match fit the backpack, did you see these?

Yes I did, however I prefer their lighter weight white packing cube set. The new ones look a bit bulky for me

Thanks for the review. A lot of good features in this bag. I like the weight, value, recycled materials, size. What is not so good is the aesthetics (looks very boxy, compression straps stick out the sides), unsure of durability and quality, I prefer bright coloured liner inside but at least it's not black, laptop compartment that goes all the way down is definitely poor design. The back panel looks like it is not well padded and could be a sweat magnet. Straps may not be comfortable for moderate carrying.
@PackingLess4 жыл бұрын
Totally agree, I wish they made a smaller version (I know they make a smaller roll top version, but I don't like the rolltop aesthetics)
@sdnalyam4 жыл бұрын
Non lockable zips, Fail. Chest strap should incorporate a whistle, already in lots of packs. Minaal pack is currently best design for travelers. Ikea needs to get input from a serious traveler to improve this pack.
@PackingLess4 жыл бұрын
Great points, also the straps dont tuck away which is annoying
