Houses are not built practically. Everyone needs more storage. You have kids, time goes by, you accumulate things. You have your own home, you need tools, seasonal items, it all adds up. Lack of storage is why so many people's garages are full of boxes and totes and the car is parked in the driveway.

@@sweetpie7919- It has to do with the fact that people don’t know how to organize and get rid of things they no longer need. If most people organized and sold/donated what don’t use their house wouldn’t be such a disaster. Most people use 20% of their stuff 80% off the time. The rest just takes up space.

Beautiful & brilliant. I love the fact you went with the 15" depth of cabinets. My many pet peeve in kitchens are cabinets so deep you can never reach what goes to the back wall of the cabinets.

Every house should have this type of storage! I remember when houses had a lot of built in storage that seemed to go out of style in the early fifties. This modern take is just what every home needs, especially if it's a family home with kids! Well done you.😊

Turned out nice. Just a safety tip, always use a push stick when cutting on a table saw when there's a section between the blade and the fence that isn't wide enough for you to safely push through with your hand. It can easily shoot backwards at you.

That looks so good! I did almost the same thing, but with some upper kitchen cabinets I was given. I painted them up, made a base and added some wood planks across the top as my counter, and it added pretty storage in my bathroom. 🙂

I did an entire kitchen/pantry/dining room redux strictly with IKEA cabinets. I’m not going to say it was cheaper or better quality than the prefab, diy assembly stuff from Lowe’s or the Depot, but it was intended to be uniform and it came out looking fantastic. Those filler panels they sell are really handy!

FYI it’s not faux wood it’s called pressboard and it’s wood that’s been chopped up and pressed together and then painted, most ikea furniture is made of it
