Ikechi is a contrarian who is self-centered and seemingly jealous (or threatened by) of Emem’s confidence and success. It was definitely a no for Ikechi the moment he walked into Emem’s beautiful condo/apartment. Ikechi made Emem’s boss-like position in her work life an issue in his mind. His ego doesn’t seem to be able to handle an ambitious, intelligent, and self-sufficient woman who is simply looking for and ready to give love in a big way. Every time Ikechi talks about his relationship with Emem he makes himself appear insecure and petty. It seems clear that this relationship will not work out. My heart goes out to Emem. I hope that Emem will find a true love, because she is mature and ready to be in a secure relationship.

Mr. author is STILL reeling from seeing in REAL TIME , through her life and job and apartment and prolly bank account that HE is NOT on her level ...but women in society even with all that she has are told to date DOWN and not "overlook" a man because he has less ...but a man will DAMN sure look down at a woman who HE feels is less especially from a physical standpoint . It seems like Camille has had to prove her blackness (i.e. choosing dark skin men, being in black spaces etc) while Thomas has self acceptance which bothers Camille, maybe a bit envious of him for it. What she doesnt realize is that Thomas level of acceptance as a biracial man is just as political and radical as being a black couple. @TammyTalks Idk, his attitude changed the minute Emem said her cousin was coming. The last time they spoke, her cousin had already checked him on, always having the right thing to say. So I don't think he knew how to show up because he always leads with such a performative persona. He looked deflated, like he was intimidated the entire time. He was defensive the entire party. I think he pulled that answer out his ass just to have something to say, just like when he said he wanted more creativity from her. Emem is just out here catching strays. He just keeps saying random critiques because he has nothing to say. He's not genuine.

I would love to hear Thomas and Camille’s conversation that was offscreen that brought up the issue of culture. There’s not enough context. At the bbq reference was made to a bar he likes/frequents that’s known for “racial” incidents and there being a disconnect there. I couldn’t discern definitively either way without more information. I did appreciate that After Talk conversation regarding race. Either way, both seem like nice people and I hope things work out for them.

Regarding Carla's friend that didnt sit, my immediate thought was maybe it's a certain time of month and she was wearing white and didnt want to leak through her dress or the chairs. Because otherwise she didnt seem rude or domineering....she just said she was gonna stand, no need to explain further... women with such issues get it unfortunately😪

A couple thoughts…the only way someone gets so defensive about answering questions about themselves and think it feels like an interview are people who are insecure or have stuff to hide. I think Michelle listened to David’s friend more because he was white. It just seemed like she gave him more consideration and respect.

Tom’s comment about choosing someone light skinned is not wrong. I learned in psychology that people typically choose similar features as their own. Usually (not always) when people choose the opposite, it’s a fetish or self loathing ie Wanting mainly preferences. Preferences are Non black women like Camile, not Emem.
