A lot of people seem to correlate what Ikkaku does with what Yamachika does: but there's two really big differences between them. First of is that, unlike Ikkaku who keeps his power hidden just because of pride: Yumichika actually has a somewhat valid reason to keep his strength secret. If Squad 11 found out he was secretly a mage in a fighters guild; he'd be court martialled on the spot. (That is if Zaraki doesn't just split him in half cause he's having a bad day and decides he's dishonoured his Squad.) And the second, and more important; is that Yumichika *does* use his power when he needs to win. Think back to the Soul Society arc; he uses his true power when he needs to beat Hisagi. That was in broad daylight, in the middle of the Seretei, _and_ he let his opponent live. There's like 10 different ways his secret could've be let out from that fight, but he still uses it cause he understands that winning is more important. (Even with Charlotte fight: the rose thorns just let him release his Shikai slightly earlier. He might say that "he couldn't use this power where anyone can see", but he also said Charlotte would be the "only person that's ever seen it" when there's a guy who's already been experience it fighting right on the other side of town. Yumichika has always exaggerated stuff to make things seem more impressive then they are.) Heck: even look at Zarakis fight with Nnoitra in this arc: he fights the way he wants too: gets to a point where the strategy isn't working; so starts uses a technique he doesn't like, but is stronger so he can win. Even **ZARAKI** understands that winning comes before pride in a battle. Ikkaku really has no excuse to no use his full power if the situation requires.

Yumichika both times he used his real power there were multpile fights around and he was sure nobody would notice.. the first time it was not like Hisagi would go to squad 11 and be like: guys Yumichika has a spell based shikai... also nobody would "court martial" or kill him they'll just made a litle fun of him, but he is rigt about Yumichika beeing a little more willing to do whatver he has to win.. About Ikaku yes he hides it because of pride but also because bankai is one of the requirments for taking a captain exam.. and right now there are 3 vacant positions and he does not want to leave the squad Anyway the whole squad 11 does what Zaraki does and are not fighting at full power, they fight to have fun.. They are not exactly acting responsable and are not the ppl who put their duty to soul society above anything else like Komamura(btw he is a wolf not fox) or Byakuya PS ironically i think Zaraki would like more to fight both yumichika and ikaku at full power than for them to hide it as he likes his battles to be tough This is just a speculation from my part but i think another reason they hide it is the shame that even at full(true) power they are far behind Zaraki lvl

Poww is underrated power wise and definetly one of the strongest Fracciones. Ikkaku is Lieutenant level even without Bankai and this Arrancar defeated him without releasing. Against a captain's Bankai he stands no chance but it's still impressive

just want to inform you that kenpachi did not beat both tosen and komamura, it was only tosen back then and it seemed like like him and komamura started to fight but than left after feeling the increase in spiritual pressure from the head captain. so they did not really fight so that was some misinformation you had. out of the four gaurding the pillars, shuhei was probably the strongest especially judging off the captains reaction to his shikai. remember just because someone ends up winning in one instance does not neccasarilly mean that they are stronger since there are multiple variables that do contribute to a fight, such as catching off gaurd and etc. no hate and it is all good though, was only trying to clear a few things up.
