Just remember that in no way did Komamura needed Bankai for strength, he needed Bankai to finish things quickly. Just like Ikkaku had to protect the pillar, Komamura's job here was to finish this massive behemoth ASAP so he can't make more of the real Karakura Town appear. If 2 bugs invade your home and bug #2 can transform your house into a dump within a few minutes, you want bug #2 dead ASAP. Also like you said: He just needed a win.

Yeah, but I think Poww is cleanly the strongest of Barragan's fracciones due to being comfortably superior to shikai Ikkaku in base form. He's much stronger than Edrad.

If that was the case then he wouldn't still struggle with POWW after bankai, Its not like he instantly obliterated him with a single strike. POWW was clearly a lot stronger then people give him credit for for a mere fraccion facing a captain.

These episodes are some of the best moments that demonstrate the philosophical differences in the squads. The lieutenants probably exemplify their squads more than the captains since captains move around at times.

Komamura's Bankai isn't flashy or anything, but the strength is so raw that Chef Gordon is complaining. He's a pillar of justice and has a strong sense of duty too, which is why he and Tousen had that bond. He thought they were kindred spirits in their pursuit of justice. Low key one of my favorite characters.

I mean, he was one of the strongest fracciones ever appear on screen, along with Shawlong and Vega. Ikkaku defeated Edrad with 20% of his power but couldn't do shit to Poww at full. He definitely had a power that exceeded low captain level.

Ikkaku bankai has been broken when his fight with the arrancar Edrad, one of Grimmjow fraccion. In this fight he cant use his bankai actually. That why he lost.
