I believe that the lid of the aerosol can is electroplated. Thus giving a misleading impression of how the paint finish will turn out. The finish that you've managed to achieve is really nice though. Keep up the good work.

Honestly you did a good job painting it, but when you spray paint a face mask it will chip off extremely easily, the reason why is because face makes are powder painted, I forgot the real term for it but they pretty much use this powdery paint so the face mask will last, so unless you plan on just having it for show, I dont recommend that you do this.

I have painted several helmets and semi-pro. Some from other teams I played against. My biggest trouble would be that schutt helmet and face mask don't hold as well as xenith and riddell. Sometimes have to do extra coating or use a stronger paint

@@dadominator2004 first, take everything apart so that you ONLY paint the the outer shell and facemasks. Don't paint the inner padding and liner that's underneath the plate. Do a light sanding over the helmet (don't use a strong grid of sandpaper). Do 2-3 coats of paint and primer (there's spray cans that have both in it) on what your painting. Give the paint time to try between coats Once done, assemble everything back together and you're done

Depends on heat and humidity but I would leave 48 hours before reattaching it, and maybe 4-6 hours before handling.

It doesn't hold up like recoating properly through Green Gridiron. The paint rubbed off on my jerseys when packed in my bag and also rubbed off on any impacts during a game.
