Oh boy! Whoo! So much to tell about IKON, this guys have been through ups and downs many many times and yet they are one of the best out there! IKON is originally a hiphop base group but can really switch it up whenever they want. Love Scenario is a masterpiece composed by none other than B.I himself (Former Leader of IKON) he left the group because of an incident that happened during 2019. He is now a Soloist and a very successful one. B.I is a genius! More about him when you decided to react about him. BOBBY is one the best rapper in the whole kpop industry if not the best. He is soon to be wed and expected to have a kid or already have idk im not updated lately. IKON is in a hiatus right now but they will comeback soon.

YG artists and they way they present themselves are different from other K-pop group. Their style is mainly more toward the hip hop style and that’s why it makes them more interesting. And that’s another reason why a lot of westerners likes YG artists like Big Bang, 2NE1, etc. FYI, I think you should definitely check out Road to Kingdom first before Kingdom: Legendary War, only solely because it would show how The Boyz makes it to Kingdom.

In my whole time stanning kpop Bigbang is always have the best Stage Present till now & nobody can beat them but then i know IKON they are the only group that i can compare to Bigbang when it comes to Stage Present because seriously they both are really on another level. iKON is Blackpink and Treasure senior yg group. iKON or specifically, BI is the one behind Blackpink's whistle, they also an inspiration to Treasure esp rapper members more like Yoshi who got into a rapper because of Bobby and become his role model. I think you should know how iKON became one of the influential idol mostly for all 4th gen groups, like Straykids, Theboyz, Ateez, Onf and etc. that even their senior like Btob, Super Junior, and other groups were inspired by them Even leader of super junior confessed that he found an inspiration when he listens iKON songs. that's why don't be confuse when you watch Kingdom, cuz you will most probably see a lot of scene where all the contestant just admire and really looking forward on iKON ( cuz basically all of them are ikon fanboys ). anyways, they debuted on 2015. At first they were introduced as HIPHOP group just like what YGgroup as expected to be but their Leader, Bi (who left) making songs and found what genre that fits them more. so they were changing time to time not just to "fit" their genre but to "fit" in the current time or event because they believe it will give more impact. just like when they had to postponed "GoodBye Road" which was made 2015. and release on 2018 on fall so it would perfect time for the song. that's how experimentive iKON is. they usually have many songs that didn't release yet. and as of now they currently in the process of planning the "right" path for them as 6 member grouo since their leader, who happened to be their Producer, Composer and the one who behind all ikon songs, BI left the group so that's why they are having a hard time to cope up with the suddenly changes, so "WHY WHY WHY" is a farewell song to both BI ( their leader ) and their fans telling them that they 6 member now. and quick update, their new producer and composer now is Donghyuk ( which is a member who help BI the most, he also a choreographer of iKON and helped his leader to finalize some iconic parts ) the main dancer of the group. he still also the choreographer most of iKON songs. and Jinhwan ( the older member ) became a representative Leader of iKON now.

@@NoName-kd1wu many things, Bi himself said it that DK was their brain. their phrase, get ready showtime was dk ideas, their choreo was dk too. and even during their survival show dk helped bi a lot. that's why bi himself feel sad because dk is reall hardworking. And when you watch their kingdom, dk was the one who's leading the group esp on their performance. it's always dk. because DK admired bi so much that he wanted to learn and help bi the most. his role model is BI. no wonder he became the unofficial leader of the grp in the sense of ikon as an idol grp. because he participated producing and making choreo for ikon.

@Izumi bin i don't remember B.I saying dk as their brain. But maybe my memory fails. And when it comes to their survival show, I feel like it's bobby who helped him more than dk since bobby had to write his verse. And when it comes to choreographies for their survival show, I don't remember Dk helping B.I. And B.I is such a workaholic. Even with him being busy, he always helped the members with everything. It's him helping the members not the other way around that's why in mix and match he got so overwhelmed with responsibilities.

You'll be amazed if you watch their concert version. iKON is famous as concert monster, especially at Japan Concert. I recommend you to watch their "Just Go", "Airplane", "Rythm Ta", "Best Friend", "Sinosijak", "Cocktail", "Only You", "B-Day", "Freedom", "Rubber Band" concert version or music show version. You'll see their free spirit, sincerity, and how they impact the fans.

The one with the raspy voice that you pointed out is JU-NE, and he’s the main vocalist, and the other one is SONG. JU-NE has one of the most unique voice among kpop group, he likes rock and his voice suits it so well Almost all iKON’s song is produced and written by B.I (former member, also leader), and what I can say, their songs lyrics just hits different, it’s just well written. It's iKON - expect the unexpected. The raspy husky voice was June (pronounce like Ju-nay). It's normal for a 1st time listener to fall for his voice. Soon you'll be amaze by Jay's sultry tone, Song's high notes, DK's honey sweet angel voice, Chan's deep bass tone.. Even rapper Bobby can sing.. They hv a lot of sad sad songs. Love Scenario and Killing Me are 2 of 4 songs about breakups. The running theme is old media (old TVs, film, video cassettes, arcade game, Polaroid photos, etc.) are like memories - unique and cannot be recreated the exact same way. Love Scenario is about ending the relationship before love turns to hate. Killing Me is about regretting the breakup for selfish reasons (just because you’re lonely). The next 2 are Goodbye Road and I’m OK. The first vocalist you pointed out in Killing Me was Song (Song Yunhyeong) and the second with the raspy voice was Ju-ne [pronounced Joo-nay] (Koo Junhoe). Bling Bling is a hype song and is just flexing. It was meant for concert performances but the company decided to use it for a comeback and unfortunately it did not do well in Korea though internationally it was better received. If you enjoy choreography then please check out their dance practice videos. You don’t see as much in their MVs but their dances are actually very well choreographed and sharp.

Ikon is one of the most talented groups in KPOP. Bobby is the Only Idol Rapper who won the Show me the money, besides him, B.I, and MINO (who are also YG artists) until now no Idol even passed the primary level. I hate Kingdom, the program is the most unfair competition I have ever seen. They did change about max budget each group can use but didn't tell Ikon and they perform with a low budget compared to other groups. or with shitty camera work, Mnet destroy their performance.

As an iKONIK, I am happy you are checking them out. BtoB and iKON were two groups when I heard they would be performing on Kingdom, I wondered how it would go. It was so great to see iKON performances. They have a specific look and sound and they always brought it. I think what I noticed the other groups get from iKON was how to have fun performing. You probably did see that Bobby got married and had a baby (congrats to him), but he is by far one of my most favorite rappers. He won a season of Show Me the Money. The one with the voice you like is Ju-ne (my bias) and you pointed out Song (he is very handsome). The last minute of Bling-Bling is very YG and certainly iKON (and Bigbang). My favorite iKON tracks not in this video are Goodbye Road, I'm OK, and Rhythm Ta. Have fun learning about them.

Ikon is definitely one of the best performers in kpop, no cap. Stage presence are insane, they do know how to hype the crowd while slaying choreos, their music are one of a kind and full of great producers. B.I is one of the youngest award winning songwriter and Bobby is a well recognized rapper in the industry, the first idol to win SMTM, the members are insanely talented. Treasure sometimes reminds me of them, their chaotic energy and vibe on stage. Their discography would be fun to discover, thank you for this!

To answer your question about kpop group being humble etc... this is what makes YG artist unique in their own way. -First, YG known as a rebel company in Kpop industry. They don't follow the standart of the industry. The basic of YG culture is hip hop, and it's the first agency in Korea to use that concept since they start in 1996 (cmiiw). The first group that has a rapper in Kpop industry is Bigbang.... the first time this group introduced, public mocked them and said that they wont become success because they're not 'handsome' as an industry standart and has weird concept. But look at them now, become a legend in Korean industry who change Kpop industry and always awaited by general public. Don't care with people said, as long as they give amazing music, people will forget who they hate lol. This mental and culture runs to younger YG artist like iKON for example. Just focus to music and art... people who admired that art is their true fans. Because all YG artist known as an self producing artist, Even kids like Treasure who contribute in lyricist, compose, and concept. -Second, music concept that YG has are adapted from western music mixed with Trot (korean traditional) music. That's make YG music are unique... it's weird but good at the same time. And another thing is, YG focus more in music and video art rather than artist visual or dance group. That's why you won't get extreme and powerful dance like in other Kpop group (Except for Treasure lol). They usually use simple dance because YG artist prefer to interact with the audience rather than dance on stage. Because YG artict MV is more to present the meaning of the song with aesthetically. For dance, you can react their dance practice. You can get the hyped of the song more if you watch their live performace, especially in concert. -Third, YG let their artist to do what they want for their music and the artist love to do experiment with music. If You see, Kpop known for their hard music and different beat in one song.... it's all because the success of Bigbang lol. Bigbang known for their crazy beat change but in the good way and it's inherited to other YG artist... other agency finally follow that step. -YG artist free to do their thing doens't mean they not humble like other artist. It just on the camera that they very savage, but actually, people who ever meet them in real life (even they celebrity or not) admited YG artist attitude in behind the scene. They very humble and their attitude is top notch, but media never exposed that. Because media already label YG artist as savage artist and criminal. YG artist as a criminal by korean public just because they have a tattoo, drinking, party in club, and smoking... really different with other artist who have perfect image. But fans don't care about that... however they are human too, they need privacy to enjoy their busy time and relax. Fans just focus on song they release. There's never a scandal about bullying from YG artist or suicide because of deppression.That's why YG artist known to have a very long hiatus compared to other kpop group and that's make lots of fans always angry lol. But i understand.... artist mental is priority. They had a very hectic schedule when they comeback and touring so they need to rest with their family too. Not just artist, even staff are human too lol. Media like to give bad headline to YG and their artist because it can attract public attention really fast. Everytime there's a big news about korean government, they will use YG artist news (even if it just a rumour or it turns out to be hoax). Because YG artist not just draw attention of Kpop fans but also general public. Here's a little map to understand YG family *Generation 1 -Jinusean (1997): now they work behind the scene (They're the one who found G-Dragon and Lisa) and work in YG charity foundation. -Sechskies (1997, got disband and dumped by their old agency and then Join YG family in 2016): Kpop legend, one of Kpop pillar -ITYM (1998): Teddy park (the leader) now become Blackpink main producer and one of YG Executive Producer -PSY (2001): Gangnam style guy -Epik High (2001): they are amazing musician *Generation 2 -Bigbang (2006): Legend of Kpop, king of stage presence, rebel of kpop industry -2ne1 (2009): queen of girlcrush and the baddest females *Generation 3 -Lee Hi (2013: YG princess -AKMU (2014): Genius duo sibling musician -Winner (2014): King of summer, chameleon of kpop industry -iKon (2015): icon of youth -Blackpink (2016): The biggest girlgroup in the world *Generation 4 -Treasure (2020): Monster rookie that still hide their true skill -Baby monster: Coming soon Here some recommendation so you can understand more about YG music. They are actually known as a hiphop boy group since then. That song "Bling Bling" is one of the hardest hiphop song they have for their whole discography. They are also versatile in their music despite being known as a hiphop group. Bling bling is a turn up song that was created by their leader B.I which according to him does not have any important meaning but just flex. It does not mean they are mocking or making it funny for the other ppl that actually do that kind of music. As have been said, they are labeled as a hiphop group.

1:05 their former leader B.I was not just their leader, he was also their songwriter, composer and producer. He also choreographed for them especially during predebut. He actually won Songwriter of the Year on Melon Music Awards in 2018 for writing Love Scenario. He also wrote songs for other artists like Blackpink, Psy, Epik High, Lee Hi, Winner, Seungri, etc. B.I went on a two-yr hiatus. He is now an Executive Director at a big entertainment company in South Korea who branched out to music. He also founded his own agency called 131LABEL. And yup, B.I just released his album recently (his third in 2021 alone). He actually released his solo debut album last year in June. Time Magazine chose it as one of the best kpop album for 2021. His songs went viral and re-entered korean charts. And because of his successful debut, Grammys contacted him to be the first Asian and Kpop artist to perform on their Global Spin series.
