I know you'll love them. They're bigbang's junior btw but they left YG and are under 143 entertainment now. B.i unfortunately left ikon because of some scandal (which he didn’t even do anyways) some reporter says that they got information from one of the members that b.i was actually kicked out and the members feel so frustrated and how unfair it is for all of them. They are still super super close to each other even though b.i left ikon. They were actually formed through survival show WIN(who is next) where they compete with team A which unfortunately they did not win but later on Yg would make them compete in a new survival show (mix and match) which is super brutal for all of them. I would recommend you watching it they were craaazy good even as a trainee. Gd and Taeyang actually mentored them. Gd was so impressed since the first time he saw them performed. He was super proud of them that he even gifted them a song for their debut (i miss you so bad). Gd doesn't usually make song for other idols except for his members so it was a really big deal at that time. Ikon is the second group i stan after bigbang and I got into them mainly because of bigbang. I remember watching trailers for WIN and seeing bigbang mentored and being judges alongside 2ne1 in one fo the episodes of the survival show. I was sold and decided to check out few episodes but damn they're super good and I love June's raspy, husky voice, just so unique and Bobby's swag was out of this world(t.o.p loves his rap), b.i's leadership reminds me of Gd, he's like a copy paste of gd but in his own unique way. They produced their own music btw and all of their songs are 10/10. My personal favourites are 1. Apology 2. Just go Japanese version (Live ver) 3. Goodbye road 4. Flower 5. I'm ok 6. You asked about BI…. From what I remember he was essentially forced to leave Ikon after allegations that he attempted to purchase maryj. YG initially opposed the allegations but I believe in 2016 BI officially left the group. He also gave a public apology stating that the pressure he felt as the leader of the group led to a “moment of weakness” so it’s probably safe to assume he was smoking m-j to handle his stress. In South Korea that’s a huge deal as it’s illegal there… he did eventually release his first solo album in 2019 under the 131 label (don’t quote me on that but I’m fairly certain that’s accurate). Side note; Bling Bling is one of my favorite bops by IKON, it was my introduction to their music. I live for the energy Bobby and BI bring to the table as rappers.

Killing me got me into Kpop. I like a lot of groups but there’s something about iKON and B.I that always hits. (Honorable mention to Lee Hi) I totally get your Mamamoo comment, I don’t listen to them a lot but the idea that regardless of the genre they manage to make it their own really resonates. I think it’s in the production of the songs. When B.I was a member he produced almost everything, him and Bobby wrote alot and even now with him gone DK, Bobby, ju-ne and even jinhwan have a hand in almost everything from production to writing, so I think it influences their sound and style alot

iKON is having a US TOUR!!!! If you have a chance to see them, GO SEE THEM. They're one of the best if not the BEST LIVE CONCERT PERFORMERS that can easily create a party vibe. It may also be their last tour in a long time because of Korea's mandatory enlistment. You are right. They're like Mamamoo because THEY TRULY SING & RAP LIVE BUT THEIR ENERGY IS INSANE. To answer some of your questions, yes BI was part of the group since they are in Team B till debuted as iKON in 2015, Sept 15. But then he left the group in Jun 2019 due to some dr*g allegations. He was the main composer and writer for all iKON songs since predebut until their last comeback in 2020, iDECIDE album. Hope you will hear their b-sides too. Both iKON and BI now have their own careers and you can react to some of their solo songs esp BI, Bobby and Jay ❤ P/s i really hope you can spend some times to watch their live perfomances too in festivals such as waterbomb and kcon. Both of them are great performers with untouchable stage presence. They are great since they were trainee. Bobby appear in show me the money 3 and won the show as idol trainee. All I can say is you have to watch their live performances. Pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 My bias is Jay (Kim Jinhwan). He's currently serving in the military and I was kinda sad cause I wasn't able to see him when iKON had their concert here in Manila on Aug 5. Just love his voice and the way he performs on stage. Plus he's sexy and cute at the same time. Of course Bobby is my bias wrecker. He's just a ball of energy on stage, genuine swag. iKON is killing me!!! I just love them. Very proud iKONIC here.

As for learning about the members I guess its better to watch “Guide to iKON 2021” its the latest one yet and you’ll get more info about them there. B.I was a part of iKON and left iKON in 2019 bec of an issue. If you want a mini concert of their different songs, you could check out iKON Killing Verse. Personally I recommend you checking out these songs (some of them don’t have eng subs but you could find fanmade videos with eng trans) -Dumb & Dumber - Rhythm Ta Live Rock ver - Dragon - Rum Pum Pum - Take Off Album (the whole album is just on another level and has different genre and some solo songs by members) - Panorama (just released today) There’s a lot more that I want to recommend its so hard to pick!! Also, iKON will be having their first US Tour this September, i highly recommend watching if its near u!! They don’t disappoint and you’re just gonna party all night.
