Well I have been watching for around 2 years now. I have been building guitars for around 30 years and never really tried the relic process even though I have always sprayed nitro. Wish we could get these products in the USA (nitro without plasticisers) as I have been using Mohawk products as of late, and used to use Stew mac. I tried the Oxford "old recipe" nitro and did not find it to be a quality product (much blushing). Anyways just wanted to send my utmost respect for your art. It is very inspirational and one day hope to play one of your works and maybe pick up a set of pickups. Sean in Philadelphia PA USA.

Отлично. Есть два вопроса. Гибсон тебе еще не отправляли письма с угрозами? И Что это у тебя на струнах прикреплена за коробка на гитаре, на стене?
@8BombCustomАй бұрын

Incredible !! The Sykes 59' LP Looks Allmost identical to my own. ( In Aproximitately 1979) I was 16/17, Gigging a LOT { Sooo many ROCK Club's . Not anymore. & Discovered a store that had "Old Les Paul's " the length of the Right side, & "Old" Various Fenders on the Left wall @ that time I had Newer Japanese I THAUGHT were Great ! & a Brand New 79 Strat. ( NO WONDER it was immediately Traded in ) The WORST Year EVER ! Which I traded a beat up OLD Maple neck for !! ( I didn't "Know" ) Until I played 50's LP' & Strats. Behind his desk he ALLWAYS had 3 59's & D' angelico's ect. "Burst" Were '$1500. 50's Goldtops were $500. to $750. ! This Of course was WAY Before NET & ANYTHING related to "Vintage" Guitars. I became Obsessed with going to Pawn shops, which ( Some) had many "Old "Gibsons & Fenders. & Take them to ( That Old Guitar guy) & Trade those for a 50' Something... & he ALLWAYS Said.. yeah.. Those & $100. ! ! I sold that guitar that looks like (Sykes Twin) To a friend who became Ultra wealthy. I saw him @ a clothes store about 8 months ago & he said, you know... I still have that guitar you sold me. " I know you love that thing " I'll sell it back to you for $1 more than you sold it to me for.... !!! Ahhhh ¿¿¿ NO WAY !! OK. So After all these years I can't believe it !! ( &, It's PURE MAGIC ) Sorry for the long text. But I'm still Exited ! Now I will forever call him "Santa Claus" Ooh. He made me PROMISE to never sell it. (( Of course not !! It's a Miracle from GOD Himself !! Neither of us live within many hundreds of miles of that store !!!

I love your show ,I love watching the whole process, but one thing bothered me that you said.. that you keep all the best Guitars for yourself so that means no one will ever get anything more than a second rate guitar from you. Nobody can get a first class guitar so why would they do business with you other than having you paint their guitars for them.?

To play Devil's advocate here: some guitars find their owner, and one the creator may not love could be spot on for another player. But I certainly would understand where your comment is based. I try to create the guitar that I would covet when I do my conversions.

@8BombCustomАй бұрын
@@Rantila718 I will explain again. I do not make guitars to order, only in rare cases. I make each project for myself and I like it that way. This means that each of my projects receives maximum attention from the very beginning. Starting with the selection of wood. I do not do this for someone else but for myself. Naturally, each guitar is different from another. The one that I like the most according to my sound preferences, I keep for myself, and the previous number 1 goes on sale. This does not mean that it is better or worse. I do not like to own many guitars. It is not for me what. I keep some guitars for myself for some time and test their behavior and maturation. It was like this with Sophie Burst, Stephanie Burst and Dojlin. But this way I have the opportunity to compare my different projects with the original vintage 59 and move forward. In any case, each of my projects finds its new owner. But by and large, I am not interested in making guitars to order, since this is no longer creativity but just a craft. What happened to those who make guitars on an assembly line? cheapening, marginality, show-off. A musical instrument has been turned into furniture or a fashion accessory that has nothing in common with a musical instrument. In most guitar shops you will not find a single musical instrument. Only well-painted colored pieces of grade 2 wood.

Its like the old joke: Gibson only made 1,500 sunburst les pauls in '59 and there are only 3,000 still in existence today. If someone of this level of skilled craftsmanship really wanted to make a counterfeit burst, all the way down to stamping an original serial number, how would you know the difference? *I'm not suggesting that Dr. Nitro attempts to pass his works off as genuine artifacts*
