YES! He was and still, the only guy who had defended all of Khamzat's takedowns. I don't think even Usman could defend that many takedowns from Khamzat. Khamzat's wrestling has improved so he could probably take Ikram down 1-2 times.

@@sittienakan1594 yeah but there isn’t any taking this guy down even for a guy at chimaevs lvl without ikram forcing you to really work and chain wrestle and even then I don’t see him holding him there. It’s the same in reverse, I don’t see ikram taking Chimaev down without realllly having to work for it and chain his attempts together and I think if he did get Chimaev down he’d immediately scramble and get back to his feet. What people also don’t realize about ikram is that not only is he undefeated outside of that loss to Chimaev and 3x world sambo champion, he had really good high lvl opponents. There was only his second fight ever as a pro where he fought a guy with a losing record. He has had 3 fights in the 13 he’s had with undefeated high lvl opponents, and he’s got wins over ufc veterans as well.

Khzmzat had ZERO luck with takedowns and hot tsken fown briefly. When asked if he thought Burns was his toughest challenge, hevsaid no, and the guy he said was best grappler he fought was this guy, for a reason. His only lossvwas the flash ko ftom Khzmzat. Aliskerov threw a ko shot too, but Khsmzat bsrelyblanded first. Abdolutely NO ONE right now in ufc 170/185 div can take this guy down. Khzmzat never really came close either

I just watched Ikram vs Khamzat fight from that fight it seems Ikram is the better grappler because even after the first flash knocked down Khamzat wasn't able to take Ikram down, but Khamzat is better on the feet and looks like Ikram doesn't have an iron chin. If he had a chin like Khabib he would have a better chance of beating Khamzat in the rematch.

If you mean by "grabbing the fence" at 3:39 then you don't know what you are talking about because in the rules grazing his finger on the fence for a split second cannot be considered as "grabing the fence" if there is no fence then Ikram's hand will immediately touch the ground to support his body. The technique Ikram showed in that fight showed that Ikram had better technique and grappling awareness while Khamzat seemed to only rely on his superior strength by trying to lift Ikram with brute force.
