Hi Fishyy! Another excellent video as always! Thank you so much for showcasing my sound mod with these great flybys and stellar scenery/camera spots! I'll be sure to include more lively scenery like that for my next VSM demo videos. I still have version 7.4 for BAT WAW in the works, but I hope to have it ready sometime this year. ;)

Although the mustang stole the show,"Allison built Merlin engine", and the F4U and P-47 came in a close second,"2000+ hp radials", the 262 hit the tunning fork in my nether regions, just about right..........cant wait to enjoy this in a f______ VIDEO xD as always SFAKTC

Thank you for that, Fishyyy! 😃While I wish that the graphics were better in our old game (and granted: With mods it's much better, but the old 32 bit Java engine can only do so much.), It is second to NONE in gameplay, content, and immersion. The flight models are excellent, and still being improved upon. The AI is as smart as you'd like, and is scalable. The cool part? While Great Battles will cost the shirt off your back before they are through with selling you extras (with "porked" damage, and flight models, biased against Western AC), IL2 1946 can be yours for about 10 bucks USD. Jam a few mods in and you have the best damn combat aviation sim in existence. 👍

Is it really that bad? Never played anything but 1946 many years ago,at got back into it recently.And i love it. I kinda have a huge reticence when it comes to newer games.They usually are improved graphically ,but absolutely awful when it come to execution.Especially for games that live on the clout of their elder versions,so to say...

The graphics don't bother me as much as the slowdown from being an old single core game once I'm close to the ground blowing a bunch of shit up and the smoke and dust starts to tank the frames.

Wau! >Das ist der Hammer! Ich habe locker 20 Jahre IL2 gezockt und fliege in echt auch Flugzeuge, ua wegen IL2 damals als Kind. B737 für 3 Jahre und seit gut einem Jahr jetzt den A320. Ich würd mir gern nen neuen PC kaufen um dann IL2 mit allen guten Mods spielen zu können. Habe noch einen alten PC hier auf dem es ganz ok läuft aber es ist halt schon ein 15 Jahre alter PC. Würdest du sagen, dass deine Hardware perfekt ist oder würdest du etwas davon ersetzen? (Hab deine Info durchgelesen zu mods und hardware) Bin leider nicht drin im Thema dazu was sich womit verträgt usw und was jetzt das non plus ultra ist für IL2 1946. Grüße Max

Jede moderne Hardware geht klar für 1946. Das Spiel benutzt eh nur einen CPU-Kern und kaum Arbeitsspeicher. Tatsächlich ist es am besten, wenn man eine CPU hat, die einen Kern sehr hoch übertakten kann, ansonsten ist das ziemlich egal. Ich würde meine Hardware nicht mehr nehmen, sondern die modernen Äquivalente. Mein Rechner ist schon wieder ein paar Jahre alt.

I thought the flyby of p-47 sounds similar to moki 200-400 (the moki engines is a radial engine motor sound similar to Pratt & Whitney motor) but it was quieter.

These were recorded with static cameras & air padlock, no mods needed.
