@@bluestorm3628 I seem to remember Taff landing with no wheels whatsoever in the previous mission, survived the event, got a VC and a few days chasing some pretty nurses around the hospital ward. So that 190 pilot is in pretty good company.

Thanks for the video Taff! It makes self-isolation slightly more bearable. The yaw on takeoff is due to a number of factors, primarily torque effect and slipstream. Most British aircraft (Rolls-Royce engines) had a counter-clockwise rotating prop when viewed from the cockpit which is why they yawed right on take-off.

Just a heads up, you're not pulling to the right when you throttle up because the tail wheel was to one side. That's a result of the torque from your propeller.

XxJay71xX yeah all of his friends that were flying with him saw it happen and watched him fall. All of the battles and what gets him is a engine failure on a new model 109. It’s quite sad.

The 190 (and similar derivatives like the Ta-152 I think is it) and He-111 are what I consider to be some of the prettiest planes made by WWII germany.

Interesting. An increase in supercharger boost pressure is _usually_ to offset the low natural air pressure at high altitude, so I wasn't expecting it to provide a performance hike at sea level. I do know the Tempest had a 3 speed, 3 stage compressor option, so maybe that's it, but I always thought it was for high altitude. Ah well - if it gives a boost to speed take it!

Could you make the titles of future series a little shorter or, if not, put the episode number nearer the front of the title as it is easier to find the right one when searching? I am late to the party and have been catching up so slowing working my way through your uploads. :)

The RAF, correct me if I’m wrong, used explosive ammunition for the canons. I know the Fw 190 is a robust plane (we could probably joke about how its designer was literally called Kurt Tank) but 20mm explosive rounds? This thing slaps. And the Fw 190 itself was considered well armed despite only two 20mm canons + two lighter machines guns, compared to the Tempest’s FOUR.
