IL-2 Sturmovik: Me-262 attacking a Bombing Raid

Now that the Sounds have been fixed, it's a pleasure to take the 262 out again and fly against a lot of bombers. One of the few areas where you can enjoy the pure power of the Mk-108s.
This was a simple mission. Me in the 262 vs more than 20 A-20 Bombers.
Luckily I didn't get shot.
I'll get back to the other Sims once I have the feeling that I can play them again without any major bugs/issues.

I think the whole point of those initial rocket volleys was to attack the bomber group side ways outside of their defensive aa range. You fired it too close and the rocket did not have enough range to disperse, so they did not hit any bombers. Fire it from farther away like in real life, and they will be like shotgun pellets.

No, they were fired frontally or from the rear. There are diagrams out there showing that, together with at which range you need to fire them so they will hit the target.

But also harder to hit the targets - much smaller silhouettes. Also, as you approach from the front, your angle relative to the defensive gunners stays the same longer and changes more slowly, making you easier to hit. If you come in from the sides, you go across the gunners' field of vision faster than they can traverse to track you.
