Il Divo with Steven LaBrie - Greatest Hits Tour 2022, Mahaffey Theater St. Petersburg FL

With the sudden passing of beloved baritone Carlos Marin, Il Divo chose to continue with their tour. Steven LaBrie stepped in for this tour for Carlos. The whole tour is in memory of Carlos. This was the opening night at the Mahaffey Theater in Saint Petersburg, FL on February 25th, 2022. Rest In Peace, Carlos ❤️

He said it was one of the biggest honours of his life to step in. He’s been a fan of Il Divo since the beginning, meeting them all years ago backstage at a concert. It was a very hard show, seeing Seb, David and Urs get choked up. This tour is in honour of Carlos, they told stories about Carlos all throughout. Such a great show!

Any time someone as beloved as Carlos passes away, the hole they leave is much to big to fill--and it's safe to say, in some ways, no one ever will. That's why all of us who love Il Divo must allow Steven time to find his way. After 17 years together, I can't imagine how hard this first concert was to do. Nor can I begin to imagine how difficult it must be for Steven to step into Carlos' position. Steven has an amazing voice, and as the tour progresses, the group will gel more fully, And having watched several of the videos of how Il Divo interacted with each other during Carlos' tenure, I can't help but believe Steven will soon find himself with three more brothers. The sound is there, and there are great things to come!!! Bravo, Steven and Il Divo!!! Welcome back, and welcome "home.!!!"

indeed i have been a fans in 17 year, when he first started singing, i ffeel like listening to Carlos's voice when he was young, but i realized, steven voice is incredible, it is just all about skills and experience at the end, carlos has his own talent and so does Steven.

Agree I also have been a fan for 17 years, Saw them in Canada on their first tour. They were so serious, getting used to using a microphone. Also the sound man had some challenges with Carlos over prowering the others. 2nd Chapter. Wow they became Il divo as they Blossomed. Cheers as we all try to heal.

Oh que oui.J'ai appris le décès de notre beau Carlos par pure hazard, en regardant une vidéo du groupe avec Céline Dion,en lisant les commentaires.Mon coeur a quasiment cessé de battre,tellement j'étais sous le choc. J'avais peine à y croire,assez que j'ai fais une recherche ne le croyant tout simplement pas,mais malheureusement c'etait bien vrai. J'en veux tellement à la bonyeux de Covid, de lui avoir enlevé la vie à à peine 53 ans. Je le trouvais tellement mais tellement beau et classe cet homme.lorsque je regarde des vidéos du groupe, je suis totalement incapable de retenir mes larmes,tellement ça me crève le coeur pour lui,sa famille et les membres du groupe. I can't help but miss Carlos magical voice....that was also powerful.....but yet had softer edges like velvet that was always so soothing to listen to and gave his romantic love songs that special passionate touch. There will never be another Carlos. Steven should listen to Carlos Marin's songs (voice) as a model to follow.

Steven tiene una gran voz pero le falta interpretar las canciones con la musicalidad, romanticismo, sensualidad y gracia que tenía Carlos Marín.Y además tiene que adaptar el "tempo"....IL DIVO no corre...Steven tiene prisa por acabar.....supongo que necesitarán más tiempo para armonizar las voces.

Pasarán muchos años antes de que olvidemos a Carlos Marín, es insustituible, yo no dudo del buen hacer del nuevo componente, pero CARLOS MARÍN sólo había uno y nadie podrá ocupar su lugar, era demasiado en todo, simpático, dulce, humilde, carismatico, y te robaba el alma con su sonrisa, por muy bueno que sea Steven no podrá nunca sustituir a Carlos, ni su voz única ni su personalidad. I personally don't see the purpose in comparing Steven to Carlos. Indeed, Carlos was one of a kind. And because of that, there is no replicating him. I'd much rather Steven sing with his own style and be as excellent as this than try and likely fail to replicate Carlos. Steven has a lovely voice, and while he'll never be Carlos, he is most definitely fit for this part. Thank you IL Divo for bringing on such a talented artist.

Total mente de acuerdo. Y ellos también lo saben. La voz de Carlos única. Todos los registros. En las notas bajas , te herizaba,la piel como en las altas, en los agudos . En esta canción en las notas más bajas a Steven se le nota la voz muy brusca. Y ellos lo notarán también. Carlos ya nació con ese don en su voz. Por algo lo cogió Saimon ,entre otros barítono. Sabía que podía también cantar no sólo de tenor
