@@neerajakumar4462 eelam tamils lived in north east srilanka for 1000 years . Indian orgin tamils migrated during British period around 100 - 150 years ago.

@@newsworld4735 Eelam Tamils from the north and east have lived on the island for over 2500 years ago. They are largely descended from the Dravidian Naga who migrated from south India during prehistoric times and spoke a low Tamil dialect called Elu(hence Eelam/Eezham) but adopted proper Tamil as their language around 300 BCE. They have some North Indian immigrant blood and later 10Th century Chola Tamil immigrant blood mixed with them ( Rajah Rajah Cholan era) but essentially, they are descended from the ancient Dravidian Nagas tribes. Their closest relatives are the Sinhalese, and not the Indian Tamils, especially the Kandyan Sinhalese and the Sinhalese from the interior, as most of the coastal and low country Sinhalese are largely descended from post 15Th century South Indian immigrants. Proving both people originated from one people who later diverged into two different people, due to the arrival of a new religion and Prakrit and Pali that came with Buddhism. One lot retained their ancient Tamil identity but in the south of the island due to large scale conversion to Buddhism, the local Tamil dialect got corrupted with the Prakrit and Palit that came with Buddhism and a new language and identity called Sinhalese emerged by 7AD. The Eelam Tamils hardly move or intermarry with the Indian origin estate or Malaiyaga Tamils who live in the central parts of the island, their spoken Tamil dialects are different the former speaks a more archaic form of Tamil closer to Sangam or Middle Tamil, the latter speaks an Indian Tamil dialect. Even their culture and customs are different. Basically, one lot is indigenous and has an ancient history on the island, and have ruled their lands until European colonization(the Kingdom of Jaffna and the eastern Vannimai chiefdoms) and the other group arrived as immigrants during the mid 19TH century, imported by the British largely from depressed and low caste Tamils from South India, to work in the coffee and later and tea and rubber estates. Their origin and history are very different.

@@sirajkabeer8501 Y cant a movie Malayalam language talk about the issue between srilankan tamil and Sinhalese people. There are many malayalam movies which speak about problems of others. But this movie actually doesn't speak about the problems of tamils. It speaks about about the topic "perspective". The story happens to be taking place in Srilanka (in the backdrop of srilankan civilian issue between srilankan tamils and Sinhalese people) as the director is from that place.
