A.R.Rahman -ன் முதல் படமான மணிரத்னத்தின் ரோஜா தேசிய விருது வாங்கிய படம். முதல் படத்திலேயே தேசிய விருதை தட்டிச்சென்றவர் ரஹ்மான். ராஜா சாரின் தலைக்கனம் தான் பல நல்ல இயக்குநர்களை அவர் இழந்தார். உதாரணமாக பாலசந்தர், பாரதிராஜா, மணிரத்னம் போன்றவர்களை சொல்லலாம். காலத்திற்கு தகுந்த புதிய இசையை ரஹ்மானால் மட்டுமே தர முடியும். சிறிதும் தலைக்கணம் இல்லாத மனிதர். முதலில் சக கலைஞர்களை மதிக்க கற்றுக் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.
