No. 13 is wrong. Metro Manila is composed of 17 cities including the “Manila City”. The Metro Manila has a total population of 12.8 million people with total land area of 619.6 sq km. The manila City alone has 42.88 sq km with only 1.78 million people. The 12.8 million people is for the entire metro manila not only the “Manila City” alone. The moment that I see the figures I know that this is wrong. Mumbai is very populated compare to Manila. Bright Side is posting wrong information here.

Fyi, Pilipino is the national language of the Philippines and is mostly based on the tagalog dialect with influences from the different regions as well as the other foreign languages like Spanish, English, Malay, Chinese, etc. So Tagalog is only a dialect from that region in Luzon with the same name.

Don't let the crowds bother you. It's really only the Manila area that is so crowded. If you want to see it a little in person, just get a flight into there and take a bus or another flight (later) out of there to another part of the Philippines. I live in the Philippines on the island of Samar. It's not so crowded around here.
