I had no idea it was ending. It was a dream of mine to come from the States to see this event one day, so sad it's coming to an end.

​@@gowen_places_5471 As someone who was there: it just got too rowdy, too many people doing burnouts in the city and driving dangerously in 2019 and 2020 (where it didn't really happened because of covid). Starting with 2021, the police really cracked down on everyone basically, not just the rowdys, and people don't feel comfortable anymore attending since in Austria you can get your car taken away for up to 3 days by police if they say so. If you have a car that might be legal or just barely illegal, you could still get a 3-Day shutdown. The last meet that people actually attended was in may of 2022, the "Vortreffen". In September, people barely even came and there was no Event like XS Car Night. And even at the May meet, over a hundered people got their cars confiscated. some for good reason, but some for really BS reasons. A good comparison would be "H2Oi" for you americans ;-) It's a sad sight, especially for local hotels restaurants and businesses since those car meets twice a year really brought a lot of money to the region, and the region of Kärnten basically only lives from tourism. The loud minority with their rowdy behavior unfortunately ruined the entire event for everyone. Its so sad, especially if you have been there and know what it used to be like. But if you still decide to come to Europe, there are other great meets like Ultrace in Poland for example. We welcome all car enthusiasts with open arms!

Epic video! I went to Worthersee in 1998 and it was nothing but VW Golfs. I'd never have believed that, by 2022, there'd be Bentleys, Mercedes, BMWs and a range of exotic supercars. It's like a completely different event now.
