this is such a good performance and I come back to it often but it’s. slightly impacted by the fact that public understanding of what happened to Kitty Genovese is. wildly inaccurate. neighbors Did call the police. she died in the arms of another neighbor who came out to help her. she wasn’t alone. one of the people who was interviewed as saying he didn’t want to get involved was a gay man who was (for good reason) uncomfortable interacting with police. their message is extremely important, but so is the fact that Kitty Genovese was not alone.
