It hearts me to read here many of this comments from people who didn’t know Mrs. Cotrubaş and didn’t have the real opportunity to experiment to work with her. I’ve learn a lot from her and -as study is endless!- I constant work to improve my singing, my expression and vocal technique, keeping in memory her advices. Mrs. Ileana Cotrubaş is also the author of a very interesting book, Opernwarheiten, which I recommend to all singers and opera lovers for reading.

Mrs. Ileana Cotrubaş once said „I cannot sing by half measures and I am even less able to interpret by half measures.. I’m demanding a lot from other people because I’m giving.” Yes, she is a very demanding teacher, as she was a very demanding artist in her career, but she also knows to offer a lot and for me is a real inspiration. Mrs. Ileana Cotrubaş is a great person, a marvellous singer and teacher, I can affirm this because I have studied with her several times.

Miss Ileana Cotrubas is a great teacher, she has showed us how to express the voice. And yes, "spazio sopra la testa!!", that's the principal concept to sing opera in the right way. Radú Butterfly or Tosca?? She's not ready for that! if she doesn't be able to express well a lyric part like Micaela, she can't sing heavier roles: is true that she has a big voice, but complicates the emission and makes a darker sound than that she really has, and that is very dangerous for any young singer .

Moi je crois, que vous ne comprenez rien a ce que dit Madame Cotrubas. Elle a été une grande interprète de l'opéra français, avec bcp d'émotion dans ses interprétations .Dommage elle chante une octave grave. Son Antonia avec Domigo n'a jamais pu etre égalée. Jeunes chanteuses, écoutez ses Elle insiste bcp sur le texte et l'élève ne chante pas tout à fait bien en français.

Estoy de acuerdo contigo en que Freni tiene mejor técnica para aprender de ella (desde el punto de vista del estudiante), pero Cotrubas no "mette il suono nel naso", ni usa "la respirazione sbagliata" y sí tiene gran dinámica ¿no la has escuchado cantar? ES FANTÁSTICA, parece que estás sordo. Es antipática, nadie lo niega, pero cada una de sus palabras son sabias en este video. Ciao
