I like how Illaoi who is probably one of the strongest of willpower finds herself in a really tough situation to explain what she had done. I mean, I really cannot blame her.

Its so refreshing to see a confession made without the writers forcing two characters to part ways but instead making them still see the big picture and understand, that they simply cannot afford to loose an ally right in that moment. Truly adds more depth to their characters.

before this game man im not so sure about illaoi, she seems so... idk. after this game illaoi is actually a rly nice and cool character

im the opposite, i liked her more before this new game. She helped Gankplank because he passed her test and thats what religion does- thats cool. But now shes partially responsible for everything Gankplank does, **including** this whole fuck up and the fact that hes gonna keep trying kill MF and take over Bilgewater. And this started over the fact that Gankplank killed MF's family. So yeah, illaoi being painted as sympathetic and her trying to talk MF out of her revenge is straight up bullshit

@@deadlordification That's sort of a philosophical question, isn't it? Illaoi and her faith dictate that people should follow their passions and desires, to be unfettered by things that keep you from the things you want in life, to reach for happiness and somesuch. Yet, at the same time, certain things that one might consider to be a type of motivation might in a certain perspective be a shackle. In this case with Miss Fortune, she desires currently to kill Gangplank and wipe out everything that's connected to him. It might be what she _wants_ to do now, it certainly fits the criteria for "Desire" kind of, but not really of "Passions". She has dedicated her entire life to ending her enemy and his legacy, driven endlessly by the pain borne from the tragedy of her past. But if that were true, would it not be worthy of consideration that her "Desire" could also be a sort of "Shackle" that would keep her from happiness? Something that prevents her from forming true "Passions"? I posit this because the concept of vengeance and its negative elements and influences in fictions has oft been talked about. How such a severe obsession with killing someone for a personal vendetta can potentially lead to a sort of emptiness after the fact, instead of the satisfaction the avenger hopes for during their long and arduous endeavors. Anyway, I got sidetracked. Probably didn't even articulate my thoughts completely or cohesively, but I'm leaving it in just to rouse some thoughts. I don't thing Illaoi is trying to talk MF out of her vengeance exactly, to do what needs to be done, just that she doesn't let it define so much of herself, to not let herself be so obsessed with taking Gangplank out that she fails to look past it, to look at a future after the fact. Anyway, perspective and all that, always makes things unclear
@deadlordification3 жыл бұрын
@@moonshonemeadow And thats all well and good from a philosophical standpoint, but from a practical one, Illaoi basically lit MF's shoes on fire, that fire spread out to start burning down a city, and now is basically calling out MF for not wanting to let herself be reduced to ashes. Regardless MF's passions and desires, that doesnt change the fact that GP is gunning for her and will continue to do so. People almost died, did in fact die, and will keep dying because of GP- meanwhile whenever the topic comes up Illaoi kinda drags her feet and wags her finger at MF for what is basically self defense at this point
