The passage in Galatians 6 comes to mind. Good one to memorise. "If anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself lest you too be tempted." If God commands our graciousness to those who sin amongst us, does this not show us his mercy toward us when we sin? I praise the Lord for His tenderheartedness and mercy to us. Jesus has truly paid it all 🙏

Thank God for his long suffering and grace. All sin was paid at the cross by the blood of Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2: “6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” Here Timothy says that God paid for “All” not “all believers”. The definition of ransom is a payment for the release of a prisoner from captivity, in this case the world was the prisoner of sin and that ransom was paid by Christ which means that the whole world is no longer in captivity until the end of the age of grace. Christ died for the whole world when we were sinners (Rom 5:8) not when we believe, the payment was made for ALL. At the cross the law was abolished, meaning we’re no longer under the law (Rom 4:15) but we are under grace and God stopped imputing sins at the cross : 2 Cor. “18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” See at the cross the wall (Sin) between man and God was broken which allows both parties to be reconciled, Jesus Christ reconciled himself to the whole world by his sacrifice on the cross. We are to be reconciled to him by faith on the gospel of Paul ; 2 Cor “20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.” Rom 5: “10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” Ephesians 2: “14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:” There are 2 parts of reconciliation from both parties, God and us. God reconciled himself to us at the cross by paying the ransom for ALL, and thus the middle wall of partition was broken we are no longer in sin’s captivity and able to be reconciled to him by faith in the gospel and obtain salvation. So to be clear, we don’t get forgiveness when we believe because 1. There is nothing to forgive because God stopped imputing sins 2. The payment was already made by Jesus Christ whether we believe or not. If I pay your debt, you’re free from that debt whether you believe I’ve paid it or not. Everyone has already received atonement for sins, belief is not necessary for that, blood is, Hebrews 9:”22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.” Now you may ask what separates us from the unbelievers? Faith is the answer, unbelievers aren’t saved even though they’re forgiven because they don’t have the righteousness and justification of Christ obtained by faith (Rom 1:17;Rom 3:21-22;Rom 4:5; Rom 5:19; Rom 6:18; etc.), which is necessary to get to heaven (Rom 5:17-21). In Christ we have eternal life thanks to his righteousness and justification, but outside of Christ we are spiritually dead and do not have life. Problems that arise when we confuse salvation with forgiveness ; 1. What sins need to be forgiven when God stopped imputing sins at the cross (2 Cor 5:19)? 2. How can there still be ransom when Christ paid the ransom? (1 Timothy 2:6) How can you still be indebted when someone has paid your debt? 3. If the whole world wasn’t forgiven, did God reconcile himself to sin? 4. No where in Paul’s epistles does he ever tell us how to get forgiven but he tells us how to get saved multiple times. 5. Why does Romans 3:25 say “sins that are PAST” if God didn’t stop imputing sins at the cross? To conclude all sins prior the cross were atoned for by Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour when we died reconciling himself to us, there is no need for atonement of sins post cross because they are not being imputed , hence the word “PAST” in Romans 3:25. We get saved when we believe the gospel (1 Cor 15:1-4) and the righteousness and justification of Christ necessary for eternal life are imputed to us. What you need to retain from this is that forgiveness and salvation are not the same, one HAPPENED at the cross and one happens when an individual believes the gospel and is sealed with the Hole Spirit of promise.

Modern preachers use example of new converts like disciples, and single major fall of David to comfort people saved for years and decades but never learned to be a disciple (disciplined follower) of Jesus. Yet pastors who love money and praise of man help keep people immature and servants of sin to the detriment of all. Jesus said repent. Jesus said sin no more. Jesus said be perfect as Father God. Whose doctrine of faith do you believe and covenant too? (Hebrews 10, v. 26) "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,"
@ORSkie9 күн бұрын
That must be balanced by the rest of scripture. "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." 1 John 1:8 The reality is that none of us are righteous without the righteousness of Christ. And God views us through Jesus' righteousness. That's the only way we can be perfect as God is perfect. "God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Cor 5:21 That doesn't mean we treat the grace cheaply. Paul addresses that as well. "What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?" Rom 6:1-2 We should always be trying and praying and striving not to sin. Not to earn our salvation by this but to seek sanctification. "No, I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified." 1 Cor 9:27 Believers do sin. They just sin less, and they care when they do. Unbelievers generally revel in their sin without a single concern unless God is drawing them away from it to Himself. It is important to balance the principles to mesh together, not just pick a verse and form a whole doctrine around it.
@jonathanisrael97149 күн бұрын
@ORSkie Yes, I have lived in more sin than most people I know. Jesus makes us new creations when we become born again of His Spirit, and those of us crucified with Christ now receive the resurrection glory of Father God to walk in newness of life, no longer servants of sin. Read Romans 6, and 1 John 3 for more understanding. (1 John 3, v. 3-9) And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

Well experiential evidence in the life of a true believer is a major portion, but for those who aren't, it's inference to the best explanation. Look around your house, everything you see was made by someone, you might not know who, but you know someone did, because it has purpose and design, the law of cause and effect states that every effect has to have a cause, so it is with the universe, it's already been determined by secular cosmologists that it had a beginning, so either SOMEONE created it or it came to be from nothing. Nothing can come from nothing.

@@Bambi-12345Believing in God is one thing - even the demons believe God exists. The Canaanites in the Old Testament believed the God of Israel existed, they just also believed that he was one of their many gods. The demons Jesus cast out of people in his ministry knew he was the Son of God. It’s not just about belief in that case, is it? Has to be something deeper than that. You can start with how the Decalogue points us toward what God desires of us, but there’s also Hebrews 11:6: “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
