This is a compilation from my Bryan Plays Albums series, where I covered the entirety of Metallica's Ride The Lightning album. Info below!
Bryan Plays Albums is a project where I record guitar covers of entire albums. With BPA2, I am recreating Metallica's Ride The Lightning. Metallica's sophomore release was darker and more musical, starting them down the path of becoming thrash juggernauts.

Sometimes I wish Metallica brought a 3rd guitarist with them on tour. Those first 4-5 albums had so many layered guitar parts that if played live would sound so awesome.

I never love when bands do have a 3rd guitarist though. I just feel like it gets messy for the 90% of the music that doesn’t utilize 3 guitars

Nailed em' all bro! Especially The solo for "Ride the lighting" My favorite Album and favorite solo He ever wrote next to "shortest straw" Hammett could be very creative with the pentotonic scale when he wanted to!! One of the first solos I ever learned. I never get sick of playin' it!!! 🤘

@@illbeinyourband Ya, I'm a little older lol! I was 18 when I saw that show. The first time I saw them was at the "Monsters of Rock" tour. I was so bummed cuz it was right around the time Cliff died. But the show kicked ass! They were the best act on the bill hands down! I'll never forget it! It was an outside tour. They opened up with "Creeping Death" and right in the middle of the 'Die by my hand' chant, the skies darkened and the sound of thunder rumbled thru the sky! I'm not lying!! The crowd went nuts!! We thought Hetfieild had summoned the Gods lol! It was almost biblical! That was the first time I saw em' live. An unforgettable experience!!

It's got a bit of fabric on it at the top of the neck so if he acedently hits an open string its muted

It’s actually because my blue guitar’s tremolo is blocked, and my 7 string (the tremolo guitar used) was down tuned 1 step. So I put the capo to bring it to standard.

self taught?? yeh u can tell caz ur pinkie finger..always crab...not over fretboard...its a typical habit of guitarists that slows down there progress...i hope u can rectify this 4 the love of metal but im just an 80s thrasher...and theres no old skool dudes that do that pinkie finger thing....and its hard to get out of...i learnt classical guitar and technique from age 8-12,,then got rust in piece 1st tab book...love tallica n all that...technique is worth more than watching...u gotta make it ur life if u wanna stand out...

I don't know how much Mustaine's material is here, but on this album Hammet plays a lot more varied and melodic, which shows his growth as a musician.
