As a firefighter, i can help answer the burning your own property question. Its different place to place, but most areas will not allow structures to be burnt down for the sole purpose of personal satisfaction, removal of said structure, or by any other intentional means. This can be allowed with the allowence of the local fire department, who could supervise the fire, or utilize the structure for live teaining drills. Most do not allow this as the materials in structures and the contents are incredibly bad for the environment, and pose a risk of the fire extending beyond just the structure. Bob's answer is actually a tiny bit close to me real experience. Raise time came, I didn't get one. Now, I wasn't upset yet, I just assumed the company definition of good enough was different so I increased my efforts. I got to a point where I was doing double my required workload and helping out around the office in other ways as well. Changing lights, swapping out equipment, picking up slack for others that were sick or on vacation. I knew it would get me a raise for sure because the manager who has to approve them worked out of our office and was aware of my efforts. After about four months of this, I got my answer. My hours got cut because he saw that I clearly didn't need a full work week to get my job done. That was the last day I put in more than the bare minimum and it was noticed by pretty much everyone.

It's sooo weird when people just show up to your house for anything without making sure you're awake and aware, just being scheduled isn't enough to know you should just be at someone's private home, anything can happen, like sleeping in that every human has done and needs to be expected by other normal people as something that can interrupt a meeting or appointment. That's why you call directly before and make sure they're awake and also that they haven't decided maybe they wanted to cancel the appointment or something. You have to have an actual final confirmation before just dropping in on people, that's the strangest violation of privacy that people think is okay just because "this person told me to come here at this time, days ago" people forget, people can die, emergencies can happen, violent family comes over and starts a fight and then a dumb worker who didn't make sure the person is ready for the appointment just shows up in the middle of a fist fight. Don't jist show up at a stranger's house because they said they'd be ready, unless they said they were ready ten minutes before you actually show up. I don't even go to a friend's house until they text me back that they got my message that I'm coming over, or they'll answer the door with a weapon or their fists up, because who tf just shows up without alerting people first? Like I expect anyone to remember we had a meeting when I mentioned it days ago, everyone in the US has ADD, you can't just depend on them having you in their calendar.

when they tell me to move my car, I don't. Because they're doing it to make it look to their sensors that they have complete the drivethru orders in a certain amount of time. But they haven't. Its literally a scam against corporate to try to compensate for their inability to follow directions which would make them able to do it all in time. It tells corporate there's problems in the business that may require retraining or otherwise corporate inspection if they see the timing is off.
