Forest reserves as the name implies are supposed to be reserved for future generations yet unborn. In neighbouring Ivory Coast, it is strictly forbidden to even cut a tree in forest reserves not to mention undertaking Galamsey activities in them. But what went wrong in Ghana? Greediness and weak leadership. No serious country will issue a permit to explore the presence of gold in a forest reserve. What follows next if indeed there is the presence of gold there? Why should we wait till the harm is caused before leadership takes action? Very bad. Is the Ghana government issuing permits to foreign individual(s) or countries, of local individuals or by proxy. Are the chiefs of the villages or towns involved. I do not know all the logistics surrounding these events that are happening in Ghana. The government of Ghana and local official should suspend all permits to local individuals, foreign bodies (individual or countries) of proxy individuals immediately. I am not i living Ghana for the time being but I am an Ghanaian by birth but I love Ghana. I put my career in line for saying this. I know a lot about countries attempting to destroy and weaken the economy of many African countries. Be very vigilant and do not be complacent. Remember Ghana, strengthen you national intelligence 24/7 in protecting Ghana. Be suspicious of ALL countries who are attempting to help stop the illicit activities in Ghana. Ghana is the only country that can eradicate the problem(s). If you become complacent, that will be the down fall for the country of Ghana. You cannot go to any country and request any permit to do a business in that country. Threat and Counter Measures should be part you Ghana's national security. Get any suspicious foreign individuals and countries (none exempted). If the chiefs, the local officials, and citizens of Ghana are not cooperating, the national government should take serious actions on any person including the chiefs.

I don't understand some Ghanaians, sometimes i don't know what kind of brain we have in our head. Nana said he wants to stop all the illegal and start insulting him and the NPP government for taking food out of your mouth. Why waited too long to react Mr president and ministers. The damage is already done.so don't tell Ghanaians you're just hearing and seeing this galamsay activities. You are the one issues ,giving permit to destroy our waters . livelihood. Practice what you preach.
