Proud to listen to my senator break down issues of debt trap, corruption and governance with simple sophistry. Going forward I would urge him to lead the fight to remove use of money in our elective politics. It costs huge sums of money to run for offices in the County, Parliament and Presidency. Short of dusting up the BBI report, the whole architecture and system of governance may require an overhaul. I keenly followed the recent South Africa elections in which personal expenses were at bare minimum. Down south they run a proportionate system that guarantees inclusivity both for gender and diversity. In SA the president is indirectly elected through parliament on the basis of the number of seats allocated by the electoral commission vis a vis total votes garnered by each political party nationally. Ditto for local councils. Before elections parties would file Party Lists for all constituencies and wards. The representation is by the party as a collective not individual MP. Thus campaigns are by respective parties. People vote for parties on the ballot, after which seats are proportionately allocated per outcome. Therefore the question of candidates dishing out money or even as MPs induced to contribute to weddings, school fees/buildings, funerals etc is interdicted.

Okiya Omtatah is right. To end all these election rigging issue in kenya is by voting and pronouncing the winner in consituency level. Media houses should assign personnels in all constituencies or polling stations to collect results and announce the winner immediately.

I would like to reiterate that this is not about ODM and KK, we have elements in the ODM who are sellouts including Raila, and those who will join that chiethish cabinet. As Okiya has said, if we just stick to the constitution, we will not even bother about having tribal or regional hate or segregation, we will not have a government of shares like some put it. Ruto must step down and we have a Transitional Council. We need a transitional government for now. Let us carry on a National Conversation on what is ailing our country, if possible go to a referendum and improve the constitution. We must question the model of Western World Demoncracy, which money politics of government and opposition, divide and rule. Let us replace with Meritocracy. Leadership should start at family level. Who ever is selected carries the voting power of the family. So that with some inductions, one group will choose among themselves the ones to proceed to the higher levels until the leadership council like Switzerland. Elections should be a process which takes years and not a one day event of "One idiot one vote!"
