For the case of Kenya it’s purely Loss of Sovereignty a condition that is usually attached to IMF loans which usually undermine national sovereignty, as governments are compelled to implement policies dictated by the IMF, even if these policies are unpopular or not aligned with national priorities. This has resulted in erosion democratic processes and accountability. The Global south will forever be indebted by IMF unless the “We the people stand against it” What’s even interesting is the iniquities that come with repayment interest rate of the said monies.

@Barts19945 ай бұрын
@@abocas The IMF’s interventions in the Global South, while aimed at economic stabilization, have often inadvertently perpetuated corruption and bad governance. The lack of transparency, weakening of public institutions, erosion of democratic processes, and incentivization of short-term gains over long-term governance reforms have created environments where corrupt practices flourish. For the IMF to support sustainable development effectively, it must adopt a more holistic approach that emphasizes transparency, accountability, and the strengthening of local governance institutions.
@abocas5 ай бұрын
@@Barts1994 Because of corruption and bad governance Kenyan leaders have resorted to borrowing money internationally - which has lead to further corruption. I repeat: clean up corruption and Kenyan probably does not need to borrow internationally. On another note, I think it was irresponsible of IMF to lend Kenya money. And certainly the amounts in question. And I still recommend watching Africa Uncensored for more in-depth information. And also Jimi Wanjigis extensive explainers on the above and Citizen TV, The Wicked Edition and many more channels.

@@edgarmwalimu8809 Spot on just like the Structural Adjustment Programs (SAPs): The IMF's SAPs, implemented since the 1980s, have required borrowing countries to adopt austerity measures, liberalize their economies, and privatize state-owned enterprises. While these measures were intended to stabilize economies and promote growth, they have often led to increased unemployment, reduced public spending on essential services, and widened income inequality. The focus on debt repayment over development needs has hindered long-term economic growth. It’s time to get it right or never.

I personally know at least 10 plus Kenyans who are very well educated and either own or manage best businesses outside Kenya. Many of these Kenyans wish to create business at home, but the excess corruption, wanton bribery, and red tape are the MAJOR hindrances. It's a fact that Kenya has great and exorbitant human capital. It's so unfortunate that Pseudo scientist Ruto talks about exporting labor to foreigners. I truly do not understand how the idea of enslaving fellow country people to other countries will benefit Kenya. How does a country even think of exporting graduate students to do manual/direct care work like maids etc? A true Economist invests in human capital to ensure economic upward mobility for the overall country.

Ruto has had a terrible image to white people....his intention was to befriend himself to white people even if it would take selling all of you

most Africans lack the ability to critically think. Most Africans have corrupt minds. White government will always find a corrupt African to rob their people. The Western corporation is in total control.

If Mozambique went to court and it's was found that the loan was illegal, why should we Kenyans pay what people have used for their benefits? Please Willis lead Kenyans to go to court. We should not lose this moment to deliver our country. This is like an open heaven.
