He's said in an interview that once he switched towards softer and more melodic stuff, thats when he felt like that was his calling

When I hear this song, it reminds me of the love and the bond between two best friends...two lovers. That there are people you can trust in this World that will never harm you. If you truly love someone, the miles don't matter. Every time I hear this, it convinces me that love is achievable. And it is the greatest feeling in the World. And there is nothing not worth sacrificing for it. There is no greater aspiration in life than to have love in our lives.

Some people don't like seeing what would be considered an EDM artist making mainstream or pop songs like this one. Personally I don't like any of the sounds coming from this and would not be able to tell it apart from something I might hear on the radio. Some people may enjoy it but to alot of EDM fans this is no different than a Chainsmokers or Marshmallo song. But even those at least have some heavier bass notes. I came here from the Kloud remix and was very disappointed. In my opinon, he did more justice to the song and added more emotion than this. Just my thoughts.

Illenium was never a hard hitting EDM artist his music was always about the emotional feelings you get from his melodies and chords. you clearly never liked Illenium otherwise you would have known he isnt known for his "heavy bass notes"
