Suspended for a year?! Kid should've been banned from wresting indefinitely at his school and this assault should be on his permanent school record into college. @@carpediem3991 Nah, it wouldn't ruin his life. It's called facing repercussions. At his current school he should never be allowed to wrestle again. Another sport where you aren't 1v1ing another student? Sure. Could also join recreational teams outside of school. I didn't say anything about not wrestling beyond high school either, but it SHOULD be on his record so the college knows he has potential to be dangerous. Wrestling is a sport where you need to control your anger. Not only that, but he punched this kid over virtually nothing, the loss didn't even look like a total domination. Imagine what would happen if this kid actually suffered a harder loss?

@@tuttifrutti9698 No what ruins people lives is hate-mobs on social media, nothing either of these kids did. You know how often school fights happen? It's called childhood... Stop using the same metric for kids as you do for adults. You are supposed to make mistakes as a kid, and learn from them. It's called growing up. But you can't make any mistakes anymore because everyone is looking for an enemy to pile on top of because they have too much time on their hands. How are kids supposed to "learn to make better choices" if they are dragged through the street tarred and feathered for making one mistake?
@carpediem3991
@carpediem3991 Жыл бұрын
@@byzoemay You're kidding right? You don't think this social media pile-on will have no repercussions for his future? You're either incredibly naive or dishonest. Also, it's a kid who got angry, this isn't a friggin serial killer. We don't need to have him go door to door explaining how he is a violent assailant. Kids aren't allowed to learn from mistakes anymore, because people with too much time on their hands and a need to find an enemy have a voice on social media. School fights happen every... friggin... day, and these kids go on to be productive and kind members of society. It's called growing up.... I ask you, what do you think would provide better outcomes? Counseling for the kid to get at the root of the problem? Maybe he's got family issues or a chemical imbalance. Or a social media witch hunt trying to alienate him from society for a mistake he made as a child. Your mentality makes lifelong criminals.

@@Fiona2254 precisely. The guy had to serve like 5 to 10 years just for one punch and hearing the kid that passed aways family mourning him was awful and it messed the guy up listening to them in court. What made it so scary was just like this instance, it was a sucker punch so they were relaxed and not ready for it.

Don't worry, there's bound to be civil litigation following behind. As anyone knows, civil litigation for assaults, even minor assaults resulting in minor injuries, will often lead to 5 figure, sometimes even 6 figure, judgements and legal fees. HUH? Bro they're kids. I got tripped up and punched in the forehead multiple times in a fight as a kid and my parents would have never thought to press charges. Banning him from competing and maybe some disciplinary action at his school is enough. Y'all gotta chill. I punched a kid in the face and he had a black eye for weeks. My parents disciplined me and the other kids parents just talked to me for a bit about why and we all moved on. Hell, I was even friends with him in the later years of HS. This is not just poor sportsmanship from a minor. This is a young man that needs help to learn how to control his anger and disappointment when things don't go his way. Hopefully the family of the boy that got punched will take this to court. A judge needs to require at least 1 year of mandatory therapy for this young man before his life goes down the drain. He needs to learn how to control his emotions and his anger.

Looks brown in the clip. I bet if he was white, he'd be banned from sports. AND if the victim was black, this would be all over the news as a hate crime and whitey would be in jail

He will eventually find himself to a prison. Can just about guarantee it. If you can’t self control in a public setting you can’t self control every

His parents failed him. Kid has parents who have failed at being adults and it shows through this. Kid should be permanently banned and suspended from school, nothing will reeducate someone who does this after losing a wrestling match

Society hasn't seen the last of that criminal. I work with kids like this and anyone who's willing to assault someone under those circumstances has a serious problem with emotional regulation and may end up in prison if he doesn't accept some counseling.

And that's why the report to police has to be made. Wait until he's 23 and does something similar in a bar. Maybe it doesn't show up, but maybe it does. Young cruelty often predicts older cruelty.

Counseling?? How about a week's worth of hole digging and filling? Pick and shovel. Fill it back up. Now dig over here until I tell you to quit. Just work him to a frazzle everyday for a week. If he lashes out like that again, make it two weeks.

@@thomthom6268 sucker punches kill a surprising number of people. The punch itself usually isn't what's fatal, it's the falling and hitting your head on tile or whatever hard flooring is present. He was lucky they were on mats.

@@johnarmenta2199 I agree. Sometimes counseling works early. Sometimes consequences work early. The data suggests that together they’re more effective.

Why? His parents didn't do anything. They pressed charges and if that's all they want to do then that's okay. The kid will pay the consequences for what he did. No reason to try and punish his whole family for something he did. Parents can only guide a child so much.

@@thechitownclown8972 Because he is a child, his parents are responsible for him. That's the way the world works, sorry not sorry. His parents raised him and clearly raised him incorrectly.
