Good video! I am a "Railfan" from MI and this branch now uses a Hudson Bay Railway SD50! I have never seen any of these Hudson Bay Railway SD50s in person! Illinois Railway still has two of them, per research on the web! One is working out of Oregon, IL! Now, I am travelling with my good friend "Mazon" in October! Our plan is to stay in Mendota for Amtrak/BNSF! The eastbound Southwest Chief should have private cars on the rear Tuesday Oct. 10, 2023!!!! After that train, in the early afternoon, we plan on seeing IR! We will start at Zearing (for more Amtrak/BNSF)! Where could we find this train with the HBR engine? Do we just follow the tracks from Zearing? What time (approx.) does IR interchange with BNSF? What time would it go to Peru/LaSalle area? What time do they tie up? Where is the engine kept? Thanx! 😁 RJ

I believe that the CF7 was scrapped. There was flooding on the Illinois River and the unit had some significant damage and scrapped on the spot. The Great Western unit went to another Omnitrax owned railroad.

I am a engineer at Great Western Railway. I operated the 5625 for years. It was basically a GP-38 in a GP-20 car body. It was a awesome engine when it was in Colorado. It mainly worked out of Fort Collins.
