1234567WTF7654321 I always kind of suspected that. The Japanese love blond hair. Add a little androgyny and you got one sexy protagonist, to a teenager of course. To bad it wasn't well received in the states; I personally didn't care when I played it over and over again. I guess, you were not really supposed to like Raiden, I think he was intended to be an avatar for the player, not a hero for the player to embody. The best part was seeing your hero, solid snake, interact with you. I will never forget when Plisken saves you from vamp and your all like "that's gotta be snake", but you can be sure. Its interactions like that which makes the character Raiden somewhat appealing. To bad he was such a pussy though.

But considering how stupid circumstances of this decision were, it is a shame. Also critic of American and European players at least counter that. The Pudge Mission 51 was removed because they didn't have time to finish it because Konami wanted to push the release date for the game. You can watch an incomplete version of it on youtube and it would have looked really fun to play. And Kojimas contract with Konami officially ends in December of this year and his MGS team is going to be disbanded soon after. =( Konami did say that they will continue their big name franchises but without Kojima and his team, i'm afraid the heart and soul of MGS may not be the same from this point on.

Well my theory is that Skull Face (the villian of MGSV) either is Zero or is working for him, we know hes responsible for destroying Mother Base (as seen in the trailers) and in the Red Band trailer Miller specifically mentions that Zero did this to them, meaning that at the very least Skull Face has some affiliation with Zero.

To be honest Metal Gear wasn't first game of that genre. Original Castle Wolfenstein most likely was. But Metal Gear bring genre to broad notice when Castle Wolfenstein was obscure and its remake Wolenstein-3D ironically lead to popularization of First Person Shooter genre where it also wasn't first game of it (Hovertank-3D made by this same guy was).

I really can't wait for this game, bud I never really played any of the Metal Gear games. I only played the first one on PS1 for a small amount of time bud I cant remember much. I would recommend playing in this order: 1 - Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, 2 - Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, 3 - Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, 4 - Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, 5 - Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. I think this would be better for you to get to grips of the story.
