As a 21 year old deciding which political party I favor more I can say some my issues and opinions are equal to both parties. I believe who ever has a better mission to carry out the country and it’s people should be the one who stands as president. Though I am glad I steer away from the traditional “what my family stands for so do I” factor because it would be oblivious to claim something you aren’t educated on.
@stretchopotomus23854 жыл бұрын
@@MrPabgon I understand that bias can lead people to use those strategies, but I already expect that and I can tell the difference between fact and biased fluff, so it doesn't really matter. The reason I would rather watch the biased videos is that I want to find out what real people who actually hold these views think, believe, and want. This one guy trying to speak for everybody seems like a great idea, but it's not actually helpful. This video feels like a "safe" way to learn about ideas you disagree with, but we should have enough confidence in our own opinions, and at the same time enough open-mindedness and enough respect for one another, to just listen to people who disagree with us.

I'm a Democrat, but I consider many Republicans great people who love this country very much. I hate how divided this country is politically. One of the reasons is because both parties have lots of politicians who have become very liberal/conservative. As the Democratic party gets more liberal, and the Republican party gets more conservative, that makes Democratic and Republican supporters more liberal and conservative. Case in point how this country continues to divide. From what I've seen, Liberals generally judge too emotionally rather than logically. I've also seen lots of Conservatives who run businesses, and are all about money. They'll do whatever it takes. A good amount of them are assholes. Liberals seem more open-minded than Conservatives, but at the same time seem a little looser and unsafe. Of course there are going to be the religious people who believe the bible and therefore think Democrats are evil. We have to stop the expansion of major Liberalism/Conservatism if we want to stop dividing and unite.

Local and state governments were meant to be the main players in our lives. And that’s because they were closer to home and we would have more control over them.

Ideologically, yes, Democrats tend toward being doves and Republicans toward being hawks. But, in actual fact, since WWII, both parties have tended to support the same or increased spending on defense. It's actually one of the uniquenesses of the American political landscape when compared to "liberals" and "conservatives" of other first world Western nations. They may decide to spend on different military endeavors and for different reasons, but they spend nonetheless, usually regardless of political affiliation. Essentially, it's like this: one seems to think that the best offense is an unsurpassable defense, with the very best in cutting edge technology. The other seems to think that the best offense is having an unsurpassable offense, with the very best in cutting edge technology. It also brings about a unique result: a very good of offense and defense, admittedly at a great expense, leading to a country that has the largest nuclear deterrent as one example of a defense, or having such advanced, or less secret, missile defense platforms that we lend our more simple platforms to other nations for defense. This while also having circa 15 Supercarriers and another roughly 20 "regular", special purpose, and/or multipurpose carriers our country's Navy doesn't even consider as carriers because they're not Supercarriers, all while the rest of the world has a total of 11 regular carriers, COMBINED, and most of those are operated by close allies. And each new Supercarrier has between 70 and 90 aircraft, depending on the type and mission, which means that we have more aircraft on one ship than 95% of the world's air forces have in their entire inventory. Pretty good offense, huh? The world's most advanced aircraft carrier, the US's Nimitz class is being replaced with the world's most advanced aircraft carrier, the Gerald R. Ford class. Yep, we outdid... ourselves. The world's fastest military plane, or just plane period, (that's known of publicly) is the SR-71 Blackbird, retired in 1991. The world's stealthiest and longest range bomber is the B-2 Stealth bomber, developed in the 1960's by Skunkworks. The F-117 Stealth Fighter is the most advanced of its kind, and it was retired a few years ago. The world's most successful air superiority fighter that is the F-15 has been replaced, by ourselves again, with, first, the F-22, and now the F-35. Both ours. The F-15 has never lost an air-to-air engagement in its history, to this very day, except to the F-35, but it has still never lost an air-to-air engagement in combat. And all this is only what we know of and is not classified. The F-117 and B-2 were a secret from their initial development in the 60's until the first Gulf War... 30 years! What do we have now that we don't even know about? Even the Aurora Project's TR-3B began in the 70's and 80's, and was only initially known about because of a mistakenly unredacted line item on a budget, and then only truly verified a few short years ago!! And the only reason that became more substantial because the US government F'ed up and discovered its own secret! The US Geological Survey was called in to research reoccurring tremors in certain areas of the Western United States. The problem is that tremors don't happen at almost the same time every day and in rapid succession. So the US Geological Survey called in NASA and other US scientific agencies. NASA concluded that the data could only be explained by something in the atmosphere causing sonic booms by achieving, up to, but not necessarily at, 6,000-8,000 mph while at, or ascending to, high altitude or suborbital flight. With such an interesting conclusion, the US Geological Survey decided to investigate further, because no known meteors or atmospheric phenomenon occur so regularly and at almost the same time, repeatedly. In the end, the US government ended up filming black triangular aircraft with unusual "corkscrew" contrails, with flights on a regular basis, around the areas between Edwards and Vandenberg Air Force bases achieving hypersonic flight. Long story short, the US government outed the US government, although no one has officially recognized or admitted to the flights or aircraft. All of this requires massive and pconsistent spending, and it's been given. So that part of the assessment just isn't accurate.

I got to say I thought this video was going to be very biased in favor of Democrats over Republicans but this was actually pretty damn fair and balanced and I agree with a lot of what this guy said but I disagree with One point he made when he was talking about how the Democrats support gay marriage while Republicans support traditional marriage. Democrats only started supporting gay marriage in the last 8-10 years, before that time Democrats believed marriage was between one man and one woman, even Barack Obama was quoted as saying he supported traditional marriage over gay marriage but a few years after he became president is when he changed his attitude towards gay marriage so the Democrat party followed suit after that but I also would not say that Republicans either support or are against gay marriage, you’ll hear Republicans say they support traditional marriage, One man one woman, but The Republican parties stance on marriage has always been to say that the government should not be involved, The government should not be in the marriage license business, marriage has always been more of a religious based institution... also the host left out one very very important key difference between Democrats and Republicans, i’m actually kind of surprised this was not mentioned but Democrats and Republicans have very different views when it comes to the constitution, Democrats believe that the Constitution is a living and breathing document that can be interpreted to fit into modern society in a more nuanced way. Republicans Believe the constitution was meant to be followed and interpreted as it was written

@Down with Corporate Amerika well to be quite honest most people also believe that Gayness is an abnormal lifestyle based on what many people would consider to be “normal”. But just because something is abnormal or unusual doesn’t mean they or anyone else believes they’re worthy of hate and discrimination because I bet the Texas republican party didn’t say anything of the sort… 70% of the country now supports same-sex marriage, 83% of Democrat voters support it and 55% of Republican voters support it.. abortion and same-sex marriage are not the same thing when it comes to being a constitutionally protected law because The Roe v. Wade decision was decided on using the due process clause (right to privacy) of the constitution as the grounds for legalizing it federally. The same sex marriage decision was decided on based off of the equal protection clause meaning that since traditional marriage had constitutional protection The same rights should also be extended to same-sex couples.. What it all boils down to is that the original Roe v. Wade decision was overturned because A woman’s right to terminate a pregnancy doesn’t fall under the right to privacy due process clause of the constitution. When it comes to interracial marriage you do realize that Clarence Thomas is a black man married to a white woman right? so do you honestly believe that A leading member of the Supreme Court (Clarence Thomas) is going to ban interracial marriage 🤣? Are you also aware that the whole purpose of the constitution was to protect individual rights and limit the power and influence of the federal government by empowering states to govern themselves, have their own laws and make their own rules as long as they aren’t violating the constitutional rights of the individual. Roe v. Wade getting overturn means that the decision goes back to the individual states to decide what limits if any they want to place on abortion, I would’ve thought that more democratic decisions would be a good thing

MY ONLY issues with this, and I swear I love this video man and you’re a great artist. But I just wanna say that Democrats also fully support and encourage capitalism and entrepreneurship and running businesses. Many, many of the biggest businesses in this country and most capitalist of them all are Democrats. I am not a Democrat tbh but I just wanted to say that people often believe this myth that dems just want to give everyone free money and don’t support capitalism when in reality Democrats are just one side of the same coin that also encompasses republicans. They’re both capitalists and proud Americans that support entrepreneurship and self-making. There are other separate parties consisting mostly of far left socialist groups and communist groups that don’t support this same sort of thing, although many still do support entrepreneurship, just in a different system. That’s something people often misunderstand, nothing to do with the creator of this video of course. I’m a conservative and I think to have a better country we need to understand first and foremost that we’re all Americans liberal or conservative, Democrat, or Republican. And all want are same basic freedoms and liberties. Neither side is less American. And just because a conservative ones to preserve a traditional trait of America it doesn’t make them regressive or on the wrong side of history, nor does a liberal wanting to reform a potentially outdated system or rethink an issue from a new angle radical or unrealistic. There is radicalism on the left, but there’s also radicalism on the right. And there are regressives on the right but there’s also regressives on the left. Thanks.

@@name1488 actually, they are! :DDD Democrats are actually for capitalism. I think you're talking about leftists. Democrats and leftists aren't the same. Dems are actually centrist-right. People who claim that they're dems and aren't for capitalism aren't actually Democrats. Call them out!! Sorry if i came off as rude btw :DD

Scanty but you’re still sorta wrong...Democrats, politicians and voters alike are almost ALWAYS for capitalism. Every single democratic senator is pro capitalism, and the vast majority of house dems are also pro capitalist. And the overwhelming majority of democratic voters are also pro capitalism. It’s a small minority that aren’t. Now where even near a large minority. But I agree about Bernie and AOC.

This is the most refreshingly honest & unbiased comparison I've ever heard! Just wanted to note that since Trump, tons of center left/moderate liberals shifted to the right a little due to the toxic culture war & extreme political division in this country. So they support gay marriage and are more often pro-choice. That's what happened to myself and large numbers of my friends.

No neither party is more empathetic one just pretends to be the theory of the Democrat welfare state sounds amazing and generous on paper but in reality that compassion comes at a great cost the middle class has to get taxed to death to fund the democrats thirst for more and more welfare if they taxed the rich like they claim they want to it would be different but at this point in time they actively work for the rich so every program they start and poor more funding to means more money taken from the middle class which simply isn’t fair if u ask me the middle class pay enough taxes already it shouldn’t be on the middle class to pay for everything and take care of everyone else who isn’t as fortunate as them

No, it doesn’t work like that. People would still have to be elected and would still have to worry about keeping in line with the congress and supreme court. Also hitler was apart of a political party.
@willk61856 жыл бұрын
Wow, there are a lot of things wrong about that post. First of all there are more then just 2 parties in the US, yes they do have most of the power but there are many other parties. Like the libertarian party, the tea party, and the green party. Secondly, you cant just say that one party is good and one is bad, nothing is that simple. Opinions of republicans are just as valid as ones of democrats. Lastly, republicans can go to jail. Wealth can only buy a good attorney, however, anyone can get an attorney even if they can’t pay for one. You can’t just buy a get out of jail free card. Rich democrats also get away with crimes more so then republicans. I honestly can’t tell if your are being serious, your posts are probably just satire.
@willk61856 жыл бұрын
What tf are you talking about republicans cant just get out of jail because they are richer. Also JFK was not killed by the republican party. And what is a idiot box. What do you mean republicans control tv it is actually quite the opposite. I don’t even think that far leftists would agree with you. Who is teaching you this stuff? Please tell me this is satire...

Thank you for producing the succinct but very informative content. As an Englishman I can see many similarities to the UK Labour and Conservative parties. In the UK now the lines are more blurred as both parties move more towards a political centre ground. This in the UK reflects a move towards compelled tolerance; in other words through legislation dissuading anyone from free speech of an inflammatory nature.
@TheRedAirOn3 жыл бұрын
There are more blurred lines in the US too but it has a little more to with them losing their way. For sure, the UK has a notable presence of other parties aside from Conservative and Labour. The US could definitely have a greater presence of other political parties like Libertarian and Green so leaders can switch to something they actually represent just to keep it real with the people. The corruption and polarization can decrease too. Maybe America is too new to all this, like everyone else has like hundreds or even thousands of years of experience with governing.
