If you ever try and trace off your ipad again, theres a way to stop it from responding to your touch ! I use it for art all the time. In the settings, there is an option for 'Guided Access' ! You activate it, then triple click the home button. You have to set a passcode, and I usually just spam 0. It's intended for small children I'm pretty sure (so they won't click off videos / apps), but it works for anything ! Just make sure you have 'Accessibility Shortcut' on (which is in the same section as Guided Access) TLDR; Don't want screen moving when tracing? Use Guided Access in the settings.

For the doll corset there are some amazing tutorials on KZbin ! I've seen people even make a base with hot glue ! I know there are makers on Etsy who make custom doll clothes ! Or you can always alter some premade doll clothes !

I SO want to see the doll! My fave color is purple, so I'm biased there. But also the sunset color scheme is to die for! I think LOL will give you the best hourglass body. A Monster High head would work, or maybe Ever After High.

You did great with using pastels for the first time. You also set yourself with success with the practice page because it helped you in understanding what you can really do with it which is great. And you had a good idea in practicing in mixing the colors first before going for the full set because you learn colors better by playing around with mixing before expanding your pallet. So that was a smart move to start with as you were experimenting. So most pastels are done on paper made specificly for Pastels, it'll have more of a "tooth" and not as smooth (if it's rough, it means it has "tooth"), but the watercolor paper worked in your favor as it looked like it had a slight tooth from what I could tell. You can also use paper made for Charcoal drawings for pastels, so keep that in mind. If you want to play more with pastels, I suggest getting a kneaded eraser to help you control the fall out a bit (and will help with doll face ups when you use pastels) and also they do make chalk pastel pencils that you may want to look into for your paper art stuff for the more define details if you want to do a pure pastel drawing. (There are also Oil Pastels, so pay attention to see if they mention oil or chalk when you look up that because I know the Pan Pastels won't actually tell you it's specificly Chalk. it will not mix well with Oil Pastels.) Regular color pencils will work yes but more speficly softer color pencils where the cores aren't as hard. ARTXX brand is closer to what Prisma *used* to be like in the softness but Prisma now are a bit more.... harder in it's core, so be aware of that too. When using a kneaded eraser, make sure you twist and dab and only "swip" when you're doing smaller details. Don't try to use swipping mostions with the Kneaded eraser because it will smear and rub the pigmite into the paper more. You can use normal erasers for sharper erase marks, but be weary wih it when you use pastel paper because it will shread the paper if you're not careful.

I know how fustrating it is sometimes to trying to find infomation on a medium you're just starting out with, and while youtube is great, they only give half the infomation usually as some either don't see reason to mention details or they don't know themselves. So I like to help out when I can to direct people to the right stuff and then let them decide what to do with that. Wanted to clarify about the Kneaded eraser because I didn't see it during the drawing process but also I noticed a lot of people don't fully realize it was ment for pastels and charcoal first and for most and the pencil use was a afterthought when people were using it to lower the opacety of the pencil sketch to line pen over, so wanted to clarify that mostly. Same with the paper, it's rare to see people talking about how important paper *actually* is for materials to work at their best. The only time I saw someone realizing on their own that paper is in fact important was the watercolorist on youtube makoccino. She did a bunch of tests of papers and noticed that paper did matter for her work to look the way she wanted them to (she also explained color theory in a way that finally helped me click it compleatly and how to mix colors because while I did get decent with color theory in college, there were points I didn't fully get as to why my colors still looked muddy).

There is neat online game called Palia which has a paid outfit which is 1000% sky dancers (not officially but truly the vibe is there) and it's such a fun throw back to see people running around wearing the costume. :D (the game is free to play, the outfits are cosmetic only and the only way paid part of the game). I remember having a sky dancer, and I think I played with it until it stopped working. lol. It wasn't my sky dancer, but I had a set of baby dolls (for some reason there were 5 or 7 in the set?) and my older brothers would play a game of throwing them over our house... which was 2 stories. >.> In hindsight, it's impressive only 1 ever got stuck up there.

Has anyone thought of doing something like Lavendertowne drawing characters based on their book descriptions I thought someone should do that but with dolls. What I mean is making a doll based on book descriptions for example Lavendertowne drawing Coraline characters based on book descriptions as in what they physically look like. Can you make a creepypasta character as a doll? Can you do a horror movie character?

I got an idea at 4:27 about the ipad issues. I hope a million other people haven't come up with this: instead of keeping the art program up in the ipad with your drawing, why not take a screenshot and put that on the screen while you trace that on the paper with the pencil? Hope it helps 💜

I love Pan Pastels. I bought a set of makeup brushes to use with them and they work well. I personally prefer a smoother paper, but I know many artists who work with chalk pastels prefer more tooth.

I think the purple looks pretty with the pink. Maybe for the corset you could do a polymer clay situation and then for the tights do some airbrushing type situation with a white undercoat to make the colors really pop
