The way he empathetically and politely exained the artists original strengths, and also how to further improve, in the most respectful and encouraging way 👏

naoki sensei's critiques is where it's at! this is exactly how to critique well without bashing the artist's skills. I love watching his stuff since the first i ever found him. gosh he is such a great teacher

@@senbeisei same. I've never seen anyone that can critique everyone from all level of art while still keeping the essence of their picture. A lot of time I think it would be easier to just redraw the whole thing but Naoki sensei know exactly which to fix without erasing the painting completely.

@@senbeisei yeah same, most pro artists usually just re-draw the art to their personal artstyles

@@QopaIn short: It's the balancing and style he changed. Full: I don't think so, i think while balanced the weight of the body, the style he went for was more "heavier" maybe in the body, maybe in the expression that catches the attention enough to look very much different like a different person.
the explanation of the hands was the simplest and easiest I've ever seen, I feel like I can draw hands without any difficulty finally 😂❤

and you pulled out your hair realized that's actually came from skill that honed by drawing fingers thousands of times. He has his ratio corrected by his muscle memory so it looked simple. xD

I'm someone who is comfortable with drawing hands majority of the time, and even I learned something. This guy is an excellent teacher. I wish he was my art teacher in high-school, I would be much farther in my art journey than I am now! 😭
Wow I thought the initial drawing is actually good. He only adjusted a few things but the change is drastic it's amazing. Proportions really make a difference

It’s insane how every single change made such noticeable differences!
The ivy swing change and the eyes adjustment was crazy to witness. The eyes were more subtle but it still made a big difference, and I understood what he meant too. Im already learning so much.
You have such a beautiful understanding of anatomy and you are such a gentle guide for learning artists. Thank you so much for this piece by piece walkthrough. I can't wait to practice!
