And that doesnt seem to hard to implement either. You can make a shulker box dispenser that breaks after 4 game ticks, and read the output from a comparator. Then if the the shulker was empty, the comparator is off, and you can use that signal to turn off a hopper that is timed to take out that shulker box. Hey! You can sort out empty shulkers before they get to the dispenser. If there's a single input for shulker boxes, then the empties aren't a big deal at all since you can just pull them out right there. Individual inputs per module would be a lot. Perhaps a button or a timer to lock each module after inputting so that shulkers with new items go to the next module. Awesome stuff, tho. Love the solution for filling the hoppercart perfectly. By button, I mean maybe send an item to a hopper or dropper to tell the system to bypass the module in use. When the job has finished, pull the item out and send it back. Obviously, you can reuse the shulker boxes for the output. Can even have different routes for filled shulkers, partial shulkers, and empty shulkers that come back because of partial boxes being input. Part of the storage system on your patreon server checks the fullness of input boxes to determine if they should be sent to a loader, bulk storage, or back to where empty boxes go since they'd break it. Its the cyan circuit, I think, if you want to check it out. Cyan and pink, maybe, because the "contents or no contents?" and "full or not full?" are separate functions. iirc, its pretty dumb actually. On second thought, don't look at it. I'm 9k% certain I can make a better one.

If you want to have support for empty shulker boxes I'd recommend using Pallapalla's shulker unloader, which can be easily modified to unload shulkers via a hopper minecart. Also would be a bit more compact & the emptied shulkers won't get into the item output just the same as the one your using now. :)

LPKelner Its primarily a concession to lag and compactness. Empty box detection isn't necessarily complicated, but when you scale up (like a 1,000 furnace array), having an extra hopper in addition to more redstone components makes the whole thing significantly laggier, and expands the vertical size.
