Don't worry, the slate hole has water at the bottom. Not sure about the marble hole, but it'd be on them to not see a 10x10 hole. A true troll move would be to put powdered snow or thatch blocks at the top of a hole like that.

FYI you can use redstone quartz lamps to make a relatively simple counter. They work like a multi-state latch, so you could create a quick circuit that when pulsed increments through the states and eventually loops back

Just heads up about placing more chests on minecart contraption. When you pick it up, all items in chests are stored in NBT of one item and you can actually chunk ban yourself (or corrupt your save) this way (Create should be actively preventing this, but it cannot be trusted 100% - it used to be quite big problem in earlier versions).
@OJapaTerrorista
@OJapaTerrorista 11 ай бұрын
There's a limit of chests you can put in a minecart contraption that you can pick up. After a certain number, you can't pick it up with a wrench anymore. This happened in this series, on episode 32, at about minute 18.

And if you want, try experimenting with the portable storage interface more as it is a very useful tool for example unloading your drill machines really quickly instead of having to do it manually, which allows use of more vaults futher on

Yeah, i've seen some dudes on a server carry 2 or even 3 minecart contraptions, where one is obviously a bore, but second and third one is actually portable processor facilities with crafters and basins and burners that could connect to a bore contraption via storage interface (the bore is a moving contraption and item processor placed stationary somewhere a bit further so they would connect down the road) which allowed fast unloading and processing of whitelisted items like ores,specific stone types and other items (moss and wood for example) to store them separately in shulker boxes or process them into something they wanted. This allowed them to mine out thousands of blocks and quickly sort, process and compact needed resources and all that without mining machine stopping, and that's vanilla generation! With TerraFirmaCraft, where most of the stone types can be converted in some other types of resources i can imagine this system would be even more powerful allowing to convert entire ore deposits and even biomes in one go and compact them into a couple of chests, without returning home and painful manual item movement, which could speed up resource collection DRASTICALLY

While the miner runs, start crushing down the previous run for storage efficiency. Just plop down what you need for what's coming out of the hole, connect together, connect to power, grind it out.

Those RS emitter/transmitter things are so nice to control things. Obviously in 1.20 vanilla we can do calibrated skulk transmission, but it requires one withing range, limited value signals, etc. Still need to dive into that when I have the time, not that I'm any good with RS. The limited sized portable drill machine is already great. I would consider testing some assembly to compact some materials as stated in my comment for the "tunneller". But the annoying part is limitations in stress units, compactness, etc. It's an interesting puzzle. In regards to a full blown auto steel production, specially if you want to attempt an auto red and blue steel line, then I would consider build a dedicated facility with more space a dozen or so blocks away or whatever, since you can connect it with a train track anyways to move around. Kelp farm for many things including belts should be considered. Steam is likely necessary for the next steps in automation. The chooch must chooch and when it choochs it keeps on chooching.

A redstone control room with a stressometer and some indicator lights would be a cool factory overview and would help with having to run around the base turning off machines to save stress. I'm thinking of something like one lever at the machine, and one lever in the control room, XOR-ed together to turn the machine on/off from either location. Redstone links would prevent that from turning the whole base into redstone spaghetti.

I can now proudly say that I have automated steel productions in surival. Train track production actually, but that's just a minor additions. Only gotta add some conveyor belts to supply the forges with the kelp blocks and the system is 100% automatic. The way I have dealt with the blast furnace is rather simple: I just used belts running at 12 RPM for crushed iron and flux and a third belt feeding bituminous coal at 1 RPM. It's a tiny bit too fast, but since it is automated anyway, this doesn't matter. Another side note: A simple rotational kelp farm with a diameter of 47 blocks (Radius of 23.5 and thus using 23 harvesters) is producing enough kelp to run 18 steam engines, possibly even 20. Such setup produces ~295k stress units. 82% of which are used for the rail factory

like.... carrying items and fluids aaand... yeah that's about it. The question is what one can do with this mass transport technology.

I would kinda like to have those wireless redstone transmitters in vanilla. Could be crafted from sculk sensors, amethyst, redstone and something else to make it a lil harder to obtain

It needs some serious nerfing/mechanic change to fit into vanilla, otherwise it's just 2 blocks and a button press. ANYWHERE. it has no max range. Just chunks need to be loaded, which is lame.

Big Fan of this series and also your skyblock series. Love it when you do your own "adventures". Just one constructive bit of feedback: I really struggled to follow on all the technical talk in the second half, both in terms of interest and understanding. Maybe save the more technical elements of the build for "how to" videos where you can talk through them more concisely? This all felt a bit disjointed and explaining as you understand it and thus hard to follow. Cheers bud, keep up the awesome content.

I'll hit you with "It's rather simple, actually" card. He just counted how long simple blast furnace operations take (in ticks) and made a timer that counts this exact time, that dispenses more ingredients, then linked them in sequence (start operation, then continuous operation) to mostly automate the creation of steel.

Weird asmr videos, dude. But also, it's too much time and work for not so much results. (aka you need to gather and edit and render and upload like 2 hour video that will not get much views)
