Great game. Had this strange mystery to it.. you could go anywhere it seemed.. you vaguely see a castle in the distance.. make your way there and get butchered by the undead lords guarding it. Such good times. I definitely was absorbed in the world and the music really enhanced the experience.

most beautiful Island in videogame history for me. Faranga was such a beautiful and well craftet world. Risen 1 is the best Risen game. Wonderful landscapes and amazing music. That was a blast in 2010. I remember playing it in Summer 2010. It as so hot. Makes it even more believable you are on an island.

This soundtrack is so full of yearning, nostalgia and coziness, sadness and good memories, it brings tears into my eyes and my heart bursts into flames, at the same time I´m happy and smiling. Just a masterpiece.

Even though I played this game twice, and never finished it, this tune... gives me somehow a nostalgic feel, so delicate, yet strong enough to force tears. That's the beauty of music.

Kai Rosenkranz hat einfach so geile Musik gemacht. Alle Gothic teile vor allem Gothic 3 war einfach phänomenal und Risen 1 war auch mega geil. Risen war einfach ein Gothic da kann man nichts anderes sagen. Leider haben teil 2 und 3 (obwohl sie in meinen Augen nicht schlecht waren) etwas in die overall Story von Risen reingefickt

Habe mich lange Zeit nach einer guten Alternative zu Gothic umgeschaut und dann auf "Risen" gestoßen. Ohne Gayronkh. Toller Titel vorallem dieser Track hat es mir angetan. Es macht wirklich Spaß durch die Welt zu streifen. Und gerade wenn man denkt: Alles wird mit der Zeit zu einfach... kommen die Echsenmenschen und versohlen einem den Hintern :D

I liked Risen 1 since it had only subtle themes of pirates. Now they've gone 'overboard' with it and the franchise has gone downhill. The game had a real sense of adventure and mystery, but it turns out the rest of the world are just full of generic pirates.

Just started Risen 2 so can't say much about it but Risen 1 was so good because...well, it was practicaly Gothic with new graphics, plot and characters. It was or rather still is a great game :D.

Risen 2 and 3 can be considered non canon/spinoffs. These games and their story were created by a complelety different mind - Bjorn instead of Hoge, where Hoge created Gothic 1-3 and Risen 1.

Somebody forgot to install the community patch for G3. This game is nothing in scale compared to a patched up Gothic 3. I loved Risen but holy fuck, is it small as shit after Gothic 3's 16 or so cities in 3 regions. I know they downsized for Risen so they can actually deliver a game that isn't broken on release, but still.
