The small size of these monitors can result in noise turbulence from the port in the 70-50hz range, which I experienced even at 25% volume and above. As a result, I returned them for a full refund. While the monitors do have a great sound, it's important to be cautious of their compact dimensions.

I've owned the iLoud MM's for years. In the beginning I loved them for their performance-to-size ratio. But I've never fully loved them. One reason being the port noise. It's just a fact, with these. And not just with 5% of the tracks you're listening to. More like 50%.

Hey, I just wanted to know if you're still using them? How long do you own/owned them? Do they still work properly or something got broken/faulty? Thanks in advance.

Hi, sorry for the late response. I had them for more than a year. I gave them to my father as he wanted a upgrade for his PC setup. I had JBL LSR305s before so I didn't have a use for them. Got them for a good price, wanted to hear how they sound so I got them. My father still uses them. They work perfectly fine. They stay turned on 24/7. They get a bit warm but no problems yet with them running 24/7. They are solid.

ok when your light goes into the red that means your clipping .... thats not port noise thats distortion from too much source volume and the driver over exerting itself and actually amazing because it probably at 30hz my adams do the same thing when i distort them. Watch your levels most people listen to music at 80db and I am sure the sweet spot for these are 79db-87db and are not meant to for bass heavy dub stepping trapped out songs that have bass that goes down to 0hz and 3db higher todays music can really destroy speakers
@matus33033 жыл бұрын
True but it has port noise even before clipping. Nothing extreme but you can hear it.

@@matus3303 so i see that the official frequency response is 55 not 50 so may be the reason why because at 50 it creates a over extended woofer and it folds on itself so if no port noise at 55 then i say your fine ...whats cool about these there is 4 amps should said quad amped
@MediaMusik7773 жыл бұрын
55 Hz to 20 kHz (at -3 dB) 45 Hz to 22 kHz (at -10 dB)

so if you have setting turned to -3db then port noise would happen at 50hz but if you switched to -10db you should be able to get 45 ..i always set my gear to -10

@@MediaMusik777 so at -10db you don’t get the port noise ? Thinking of getting these for playing a yamaha modx8 in my living room but need small speakers

I read many reviews online about how short they last... anywhere from 3-8 months someone reports a faulty unit. So I just wanna ask you if you're still using them, how long do you own them, were the problems (noise) you had resolved etc.

To the defense of these speakers, Billie Eilish’s first album was mixed like shit…every system I’ve heard it in, vocals are heavily distorted and clipping, and the sub bass are way overboard. I actually couldn’t listen to her music bc of the mixes lol. I’m torn on these speakers though, I really want to know if they can handle bassy music.

I don't have any port noise with my JBL LSR310S on this song. Today I was recording a comparison between Genelec 8020D and iLoud Micros. From what I can hear the iLouds sound fuller in the bass region. They handle everything fine but if you like your music loud don't get the iLouds. Before I bought the Genelecs I was reading about the iLoud MTM and decided to buy the Genelecs because they had more volume headroom and I use them with a sub anyway. This port noise was at almost clipping so at the maximum volume. You can hear it at higher volumes but I wouldn't call it a dealbreaker. I also have a Fluid Audio subwoofer and that thing has way more port noise then the iLouds and that is a subwoofer designed to reproduce bass.

@@matus3303 thanks for the detailed comment. I was almost sold on the iloud mtms bc of the small footprint and the fact that they seemed to sound really good… but I know I’ll be so annoyed if I hear port noise of any kind. I just can’t even justify port noise in 2022, it shouldn’t even exist lol Still on the hunt for the perfect small monitors. I’ll check out some videos on the genelecs and keep an eye on your channel for future vids. Thanks!

@@Distortion_World Yes, they have class D amps. It is normal for them to hiss. nothing terrible. At low to medium levels there is no port noise. At higher levels there is but again it is not a dealbraker. If you want something better at same size and price there is nothing
