This video is a result of me practicing using Adobe Premier Elements 12 again. The spider seen here is a Neoscona Domiciliorum or Spotted Orb Weaver. This was filmed in False Cape State Park in Virginia Beach.

agreed. orb webs are marvels of engineering. Something this elegant and practical doesn’t arise by mere chance. I don’t care how many billions of years you give yourself to work with. Spiders were created with a pre-programmed ability to do this.
@Asterra2
@Asterra2 3 жыл бұрын
@@dutchessandkay2280 It's not a matter of belief. It's a discovery. If we somehow lost all knowledge of evolution and had to start from scratch, we'd discover the same exact thing again. Lose a religion, and people will invent a new one that's a little more contemporaneously compatible. That's happened a bunch already. We lost Amun Ra and Zeus, and they weren't replaced with Amun Ra and Zeus but something different. That's how fabrications work. Mohit Singh underscored a good point. Take a look at a graph indicating the percentage of the population who consider themselves religious and you'll see an accelerating decline. Particularly in developed countries such as Japan. That's the power of information and education. And the best part is that this is entirely to their benefit. Anyone who is predisposed to believe in a gargantuan fabrication that cannot be proven even the slightest is frankly not someone with whom to hold an argument (because they will fall back on conviction when their back is against the wall), nor do they deserve to be employed in any critical capacity (because their capacity for reason and logic are compromised with the baggage of religion).

Past few nights, I've noticed an orb weaver taking residence in a window (outside, of course) that is usually full of cobweb weaving house and garden spiders - never get to see it weaving her web though, but I do get a front row seat to seeing her hunt... I admit though, aided by turning off porch lights and shining a flashlight to simulate the light I turned off, causing the moths and other flying insects to fly up there/into the web... 😂 😂

My husband accidentally injured one today while trying to relocate it away from our house after it started building a web over our front door. He ended up killing it to put it out of its misery. Black and brown widows are constantly trying to set up house beside our front door so it would have been nice to have an orb weaver around to prevent that. Also, an orb weaver about the size of my head decided to take up residence outside our backyard sliding door about 1-2 years ago. That one got smashed intentionally because we didn't know how to relocate it. Moral of the story: spiders really like our house when they really shouldn't and I'm constantly afraid to open my doors.

Are these dangerous? I've seen one create an orb web really close to my front door when she was a little older than spiderling. Now damn, she's grown to near 1inch & 3/4. I try to talk to her and tell her how beautiful she is, but I dunno. Thought I'd relocate her cuz she's creeping people out. Looks just like this but has about 8 white dots on either side of the front thorax & very dark black stripes and tips on the legs.

@@IloveSPIDERZ also millions of years of evolution, so I'd say less practice and more it's like ingrained into them. That's why even spiderings will do this quickly too (obviously not quite as quick because yes, less practice). What amazes me is they literally have a pinsized brain and look at them go. We do mathematic degrees or engineering degrees to make our buildings and structures, these little guys literally do it by instinct (they know the angles, the right threads to place, the bits that need reinforcement and how to adapt their web based on their surroundings - I mean they are literally architects).
