I'm absolutely fascinated by Venice. I've been reading about the Madonna dell'Orte chiesa and Jacopo Tintoretto's masterpieces. Passing Tintoretto's house was incredibly exciting. Thank you so much for posting this video.

I was working in New York, but took the time to watch the video today and I really enjoyed it. Since I have been to Venice a dozen times, I thought I would know all of the parts of Venice that you passed, but there were many that I didn't recognize. So, when I return in the summer, I will have to do some more exploring. I really enjoyed the historical information, much of it was new to me. Grazie tanto.

A dozen times? Heavy sigh. I’ve been once and left a piece of myself there. I didn’t want to come home. We got to do an amazing private tour through the grand Canal making several stops. I can’t swim but if I had fallen off that boat and drowned I would’ve been exiting the planet a happy woman.

@@ChooseCompassion You don't want to fall into the Grand Canal. Trust me. One year, I was sitting by the Canal, near the Rialto Bridge. All of a sudden I heard a scream. There are steps at the water in that part of the Canal, which are often covered with algae and very slippery. A lot of tourists fall into the Canal in that way. A large woman was teetering on the top step, trying to balance herself. It was a losing battle and she knew it. She fell into the water. I rushed to the top step to give her a hand. I knew the top step was slippery. I just put one foot on it and extended my hand. Instantly, I fell back and slid down the steps on my back into the water so fast that I was totally submerged. Horrible water! Most of the waste of the city is still dumped into it. I saw the woman swim to the steps and pull herself out. She didn't need my help. Some people helped me out of the water. I walked back to my B&B soaking wet, full of that gunk. When the owner saw me, he said, " Alan, don't try to rescue anyone again." Believe me, I'm not going in that water again.
