The brain is very complex and there are multiple sections with different functions, that all develop in a different way depending on the animal. Raven are called "intelligent" because they are capable of solving problems, not many animals (except humans) are able to solve. That, however, does not mean they are able to understand the same things we understand. Because of how complex the brain is, those 2 abilities (could) be completly independent from each other. Like an A.I., for example, is able to solve multiple problems, but is not aware of itself or other beings. This is also the reason, why I really hate the "as intelligent as a X-year old kid"- comparison. It's really misinformative and not a good picture of how an animals intelligence works.

It could be that that particular one or a few of them in his flock, knew that someone at that location was good to them. So he thought to come there for help. It doesn't seem possible at first, but there have been studies now showing that they do indeed behave in this manner. They are the only bird that uses a tool. And one of the only animals that uses a tool within a series of complex maneuvers to accomplish a goal. I love crows. They just feel right to/ for me. +Trippy What, if you got attacked by a porcupine, you'd just walk around for the rest of your life with the quills stuck in your chest?
@kimber50749 жыл бұрын
+GeeseAreScary Nope, unfortunately the animal would eventually die from an infection. It would be painful and would take probably a couple to a few months.
@stannisbaratheon59619 жыл бұрын
K imber So, what? They should've left the quills in and made the bird suffer every time it moved? It being infected isn't absolutely going to happen - and an infection doesn't always mean death. Please, stop being such a downer.

+GeeseAreScary Kimber was agreeing with you. It's more likely to get infected with the quils in than out

Some of the more intelligent animals often come to humans for help. They know we have nimble hands and can get things out of them.

It’s so cool to see how they can understand when they need help. He flew to where he knew people lived to ask for help, and stayed all the way through, even when it hurt. Most animals, including us humans a lot of times, would try and get away or fight back. Man I love these birds ❤️

Ravens are very intelligent! So are many birds! I hang around with geese a lot, and they're like little people, extremely social and intelligent, it feells like being among little humans (chicken too, they're very underrated as well!) Awesome raven rescue video!
