Hi, I’d like to ask for your help with a very important for me matter. For some reason/s my mobile phone (HTC One M8s) battery (in my understanding) gets ‘frozen’ during night time & when in the morning I try to activate it (without connecting to its charger, it makes some noise & disconnect itself for few times & then after successful login, most of my screen’s icons just disappear & I had to put them back. Also, I’ve noticed that during the night that battery (being turn off) is losing its power by around 7% from 100% to around 93%. Being not an expert in this field, in my view, it looks like its battery is faulty or maybe too old to function like it should & if I’m right I’m going to buy a new battery but I’d like to know if I’m correct with my assumption, so, if possible, pls, respond to my message & share with my your professional opinion, what will be much appreciated. This is the first time I have felt I needed to comment on KZbin. I felt compelled to say THANK YOU to the person who posted this video. I was panicked because my phone would not turn on and didn't really want to pay, 'through the nose' ,for a new one. I followed the steps and "Voilà!" my phone is turned on again. I do need to get a new phone but just found out that if I wait until December, Canada has passed a law that states all cell phones sold from December onward must be sold unlocked. I'm waiting until then. So, to the KZbinr who posted this video I thank you for sharing what you know, you have just saved me from having to go out and search for a new phone. Mel Hyde 6% is not much... its normal when u charge your phone often but if it disturbs u, you can replace the battery

Replacing a battery on an HTC is a bit of work. very small parts in a very small area. Especially if you dont have dexterity in your fingers and/or you have large fingers.

Just installed Lineage OS 17, and suddenly this happens, after few hours, one guy had to replace the battery for repair, and it took several days! Thank You so much =-) I did not believe that this would help but decided to try and it helped!

so ive cleaned it very carefully and there is no dust left. weird thing is: when i had my phone plugged into a charger before i cleaned it, it did infact charge about 8% (in 1 hour), so idk, i cant use your bottun pressing tips since it always launches when i hold down any combination that includes the power button

Good to read so many found this worked for them - for some reason my ull+ is still totally unresponsive - was running day before, next morning opened screen after sleep mode, then top of the screen had a crazed look for pixels, not the display hardware, sort when you know the display has frozen, like a stuck video, nothing was changing, then pressed the pwr botton quickly, as though to turn of disply, hoping to turn it back and find it working. Nope, went off and has been that way ever since. No charging light either - so have followed your instructions, over and over again, longer each time, not a flicker of life....😞 Its such a great fone, prob best HTC ever made... Please help - any ideas before I take the back off, though can only think the battery either completely dead, but was showing 76%, or lead has come off, but nothing jerked to cause that. Thanks

@@dakshlittleboy2880 Nope, I replaced the battery, no change, had someone check the charging on the original battery, told me its fine!! I am going to strip the fone down to the CPU and logic bd just to see if there is a component, like video, failing. I find it very odd that it just stopped. Mind you, having worked in IT for nearly 50 years, it should not be that much of a surprise, in fact things last even less than they used to 😞 (personal rant there for a mo)

I know this is an old video, but for those of you who give a shit, this works on the new HTC 10. I had my phone die on me while I was out and this got it to work. I will add, if you do the power button and volume down, it will bring you to the boot menu. Just select "Reboot" option
