I find it so hard to slow down and think against an opponent blitzing moves. In hindsight it’s easy to say Alan had over 40 seconds so could have taken a few moments to compose himself and think.

Go back to 3’ on the clock for Alan. Knight D6 check protected by the pawn. If Eric moves the King he’s safe but if he takes the Knight with his pawn Alan has Rook C1 pinning Eric’s Queen to the King and he wins the Queen. Anyone?
