I’m from Rio and If you can,go to Arraial do Cabo or Paraty.There are the most beautiful beaches here.If you wanna stay next to the center of rio ,try grumari beach ,it’s not so famous but it’s cool and more private/safe.We have a lot of beautiful places besides beach,you should see Santa Teresa and Urca (it’s next to the center of the city ). Try to learn just a bit of Portuguese.Basic things to have a good communication,but a lot of people speak English here. Be careful and always check the information you get. I would advise you to don’t visit any favelas. Tips:There is a bondinho in Santa Teresa you can try and on Urca,you can watch the sunset in Mureta da Urca. The Escadaria Selaron it’s a beautiful place too.

Tips for Rio de Janeiro: • Best beaches: Barra Beach, Joatinga (go in the morning), Prainha, and Ipanema. Avoid Copacabana as it’s more dangerous. The Leme section (the beginning of the beach) is more relaxed. • Breakfast at Parque Lage. Visit the Tijuca Forest (for example, drive up to Christ the Redeemer and come down by cable car to enjoy both experiences). • The best esfiha in the world, paired with mate with lemon or coconut water: Largo do Machado. You need to stay alert and aware of your surroundings everywhere, especially regarding safety. Don’t let your guard down. However, in the South Zone (where most of the tourist attractions are), there’s also a higher chance you’ll pay more for things. A night out at a cool bar in Lapa is essential; Saturday night is the best time to go. There’s always samba and other great events at Pedra do Sal on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. On Sunday, it’s worth strolling through Aterro do Flamengo (the roads are closed to cars in the morning, so everyone cycles and walks in the streets, and it’s a fantastic vibe). Take advantage of Sunday morning to enjoy a delicious pastel with chilled coconut water or a tasty tapioca at the Glória Market (near Aterro do Flamengo, with a view of Sugarloaf Mountain). Speaking of Sugarloaf Mountain, don’t miss visiting Mureta da Urca at sunset (nearby) and enjoying a codfish fritter at Bar da Urca. Explore the bars in Santa Teresa, but be cautious around favelas. Avoid looking like a tourist in these areas. If you want to visit a favela, choose Vidigal. Take a motorbike taxi from the entrance and go straight to the restaurant with a sea view. Avoid wandering around the favela-stick to specific activities and know exactly where you’re going beforehand. Finally, avoid using your phone or camera out in the open.

Tips: In Machu Picchu they don't allow the use of drones, umbrellas or selfie sticks, and it is recommended to wear hiking shoes. In Brazil, be careful with tap water, always bottled. In Santiago, be careful wherever you go, they steal cell phones or jewelry that are in sight. There is plenty of good food and alcohol, enjoy.
