Same although I was pretty young. One of my earliest memories was when they beat the Lakers in his first Finals, I was 4. I was running around the house pretending to be Michael Jordan, from then on he was my favorite athlete, still is to this day. I was only 11 when he retired from the bulls after his 6th championship. But I was blessed to get to witness him play even though I may have been too young to fully understand what I was witnessing. I now understand what I was able to witness and that is possibly the greatest athlete of all time when he was at the top of his game.

Remember the 80s and 90s? If you ran your mouth and talked, bs.. someone would shut it for you. Not being mean but honest. The world pulled you back in line with a good wake up call

Lediddy's not even close.Lebron's about to begin his 22nd season and he still hasn't caught up to Michael's 11 full Bull seasons and he never will even if he plays till he dies. An entire hall of fame career still separates Michael from lebron. 2 rings, 2 fmvp's, 1 mvp, 1 dpoy award, 4 all defensive first teams, 9 scoring titles, 3 steals titles, 2 3peats, 2 slam dunk titles, the list goes on and on plus Michael never lost 3 games in a row from 1990-1998 while playing full seasons and full games even as a 40 year old. Lebron lost and missed more games last month than Michael in a decade. We're done with lebron

Jordan hit 6 three pointers in the finals for one reason. A reporter said Drexler was a better 3 point shooter. Mike said he didn't choose to shoot them. First game of the finals against Drexler, 6 three pointers in the first half , 35 points.

There is no debate. Lebron is not even close. He is not better than Kobe, Magic, and Bird. Luka is even better. Lebron's supposed greatness is a media sponsored tale to get people and the world interested in the NBA as its viewership has been dwindling... They have always been looking for the next Jordan to propel the league and sadly there is none. Now they are trying to get viewership through controversies like getting the good for nothing Bronny into the Lakers. NBA has lost its autheticity as a sporting league. It is now more of an entertainment league like the WWE. ESPN and Klutch sports are brainwashing audiences into the Lebron "greatness" tale. Sadly, the stupidity is working for the younger generation. Those who saw Jordan and Lebron play know the difference and it is not even close.

definitely a media sponsored tale, they have invested alot of time and money towards claiming he is the GOAT. They nicknamed him the King when he was a Freshmen in high school. Well technically a local sports writer did but the big companies ran with it when they were writing stories on him. He was the most hyped player in human history and hyped by the media.

You're a young cat so I'm not going to be like George Foreman on 4th of July and grill you. But I'm old enough to have witnessed young then prime MJ in person and I have done same with Bron and I find it laughable that they're compared. The gap between them is the size of Michael Strahan's. And I detested MJ. Not only cause he played in the Eastern Conference, and I've bled purple & gold since Magic's rookie season, but because he played with too much swagger for my taste. MJ's mental was Manson maniacal. Bron's cerebral is feeble as Bugsy Siegel without his desert eagle. MJ also had superior footwork due to vastly superior fundamentals. Bron's footwork is cadaver-like. MJ also had the leaner, faster twitching muscle fibers which granted him superior reflexes, hand-eye coordination, bounce, hang-time, quickness, explosiveness, etc. MJ was jaguar-like. Bron is a water buffalo in a stampede - constantly out of control. He doesn't have MJ's balance nor aerial agility. You're forgetting one very important factor about Bron going to Finals many times while in the East. At the time that conference was weak as Joe Biden without Cialis. It was dubbed the Least because it was inferior. What happened when Bron moved to the West in 2018 and he had all them young studs (Ingram, Hart, Kuzma, KCP, Caruso, Ball, Zubac)? He didn't even make it to the playoffs. No way can you be in GOAT convo after that Chernobyl reactor size meltdown in 2011 NBA Finals when you were outplayed by a low-fueled jet of a role player. Bron is the opposite of MJ - passive. A teammate (Chalmers) once called him a bitch during a timeout of a game cause Bron was ballin' too passively and not bringing the heat in a flash ala Wade. The guy is under .500 in NBA Finals and he's had more prime All-Star teammates than any other superstar. MJ is undefeated in Finals and he's only had ONE prime All-Star teammate. To compare King Con to Black Jesus is as absurd as comparing corny Kevin Hart to Richard Pryor.

If you look at Jordan's career his 3pt% went up as he attempted more 3s per game. So in today's era he would obviously attempt more 3s so he would shoot it better with more repetition. He may not shoot 40% every year but it's pretty realistic he would shoot 36 to 39%. So he would not struggle with the 3 like some people think...

LeBron not top 10. His strongest qualification is longevity. That's a joke compared to Kareem. 10 finals 6 rings 6 MVP awards. Last finals MVP 38 years old. Last ring 41. Top 3 all time scoring rebounds and blocks. He was best player in the league for 10 years. 5 MVP awards first 8 years. 3 years of college basketball. 3 championships. Only lost 2 games. Kareem avg 28.6 points, 14.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. His best season. 34.8 points. 16.6 rebounds. 4.6 assists. 2 scoring titles. 11 times all defensive team . Mike Wilt Kareem. Top 3 all time.

U gotta understand, MJ compared to his peers in the league, he was above average over everybody’s average in the league when it comes to the 3 ball. Same goes for Bird, but Bird was beyond over average compared to everyone else. The whole purpose of Jordan’s scoring ability was relied on team work and the triangle offense that they ran. The 3 wasn’t in his forte for his team but if he needed to he did

13:00 Lebron just trying to save his body is not a good point my guy. We can talk about it...Michael Jordan missed 18 games in his entire career OTHER than his second year cuz of his injury. You can't just excuse Lebron not playing. MJ the Goat. No emotions. Just OBJECTIVELY. I have an argument for Kobe being better than Lebron. Also got an argument for Kobe being the Goat. But just straight objectively speaking, MJ is the Goat. By a LONG shot.

The reason why people talk about that 1 game is because it's an NBA record that stands to this day. It's because the stakes were as high as possible and he was dared to shoot them and they were all water. But I'll give you this stat. There were three seasons he shot over 2 threes a game. He shot 37% those seasons.
@somebody220100
@somebody220100 3 ай бұрын
10:43 That one game where he set the record for most 3’s in a half needs to be looked at in context to truly understand the point. Those shots weren’t in the flow of the offense, that wasn’t Phil Jackson’s game plan. Mike wasn’t just feeling good that day and just decided to keep shooting until he missed. No. Mike did that expressly because leading up to that game all of the reporters were saying that Drexler was the better shooter between the two and that Jordan couldn’t shoot 3’s. And if there is one thing we’ve learned from NBA history it’s that you do not gas THAT man up and tell him of all people he can’t do something. If that (and I’m saying this respectfully) psychopath with that mentality and work effort played in this era he would have no problem putting up at least 200 3’s a day in the offseason if for no other reason than because that’s how many Steph shoots a day and Michael isn’t getting outworked by nobody and if he was asked to shoot 8-9 threes a game he’ll make at least 3. He was already shooting around 49% from midrange over his career, over 80% (!!!) on fadeaways when he was playing in Washington with virtually no knees. You telling me a prime Jordan couldn’t shoot 40% from three if he genuinely wanted to, especially if everybody thinks he can’t and some are stupid enough to tell him so?

You said, they where not winning anything, Lebron wasn't either, fun fact, getting to the finals is not winning. It does not matter how many times you get there if your record is 4 in 22 years (and lets be honest here it's just 3 the mickey mouse chip doesn't count) so 3 and a half chips in 22 years... and some big loses where his fault directly like 2011 for example... nobody with so much negative shit in their career deserve to be even close to the top 5, filled with people doing everything right, winning real chips with the same teams for their entire careers not chasing and cheating.

Just to be clear. People are not using one game as an example. Michael Jeffrey Jordan average less than 2 three point shots per game. He made it clear that the reason for that was he did not like the fact he might fall in love with 3 point shots and start to look for threes or someone to pass him the ball outside the 3 point line. Then he forgets to box out and penetrate to the rim looking for a foul or dish the ball to an open player and or rebound... Something that has been missing from the NBA in recent years. The NBA is so soft now. I stopped watching it years ago. And i love the game of basketball. But not what the NBA has become. Like it or not. Basketball was way better back then. Men were playing basketball. Not these "Cant play tonight because my fingernail broke". There is only one goat. Dont get it twisted. Just because you were born after those times. Does not mean the product they are selling you is better just because the media tries to promote a certain narrative. Thats all nonsense. In fact, i have an idea. All of those Bulls seasons. Even his rookie games, are available in here on KZbin. I have seen many of them. Watch those seasons. Hear the narrators talk about the injuries many of those players endure. And still went our and played 100 percent of themselves. It was diffetent. But in a good way, you could see they played to be the best. No fake drama queens like nowadays. No flop to gat a foul call. Handcheck which is very, but very important. You cant touch a player now without getting a foul call. Those guys got beaten up and many of those times a foul wasnt even called. I bet you the last cent i have in the bank, and beleieve me i am not a millionare but there is some. In this internet and social media era, Michael Jordan would be some kind of GOD! He almost was back then. And there was not social media or anything. He would be the definition of Viral content. So no Kid, you seem to be a great kid. But your aproach is mistaken. Cheers anyway!! At least you give him more credit than many others your age. Oh btw! Almost forgot. It is because of Jordan all these new generation make the money they do. It is because of Jordan, and Magic and Bird before him the NBA is what it is now. And last but not least. There is a reason why people say in other sports "He or She is the Micharl Jordan of that sport". MIchael Jordan was a cheat code, plain and simple. No weakneses in his game, None. Keep up the good work kid. But i suggest you to do what i told you. Dont watch just hightlights. Go watch the whole games and entire seasons. Listen to the stories and situations around them, those guys didnt put excuses, they went out and play. The reason why i suggest that to you is because i have seen so many reactions from people around KZbin. Things like "Why these player was so stupid and felt because of that Larry Bird fake shot blah blah blah". Reason was, Larry Bird was a bucket, and it is not the same to see Lebron for instance fake an outside shot(Which at 36 percent lifetime outside of 3 feet is almost and surely a brick. Than seeing Larry Bird or Michael Jordan doing a shot fake. The pressure as a defender was different. That is why i asked you, if you really want to know the how's and the why's, watch the entire games from back then. You will learn a lot trust me. And then compare them to the ones you think are even close from Michael Jordan. You will learn a lot...... Trust me!!

The point of the 3 point conversation is, everyone says Jordan couldn't shoot 3's. The point being made after that.. is HE COULD. he didn't have to use them all the time, but if he wanted to, he could have. As everyone has said over and over.. the 3 point shot wasn't that big a thing in Jordan's era, but if it was.. he would have been good at it. So, he didn't have any urge to do 3 pointers all the time, neither did the rest of the league. If he was playing now, he could do whatever he wanted.

10:26 Michael Jordan once averaged 37 ppg in a league that actually played defense. Some teams actually defended both sides of the basket within 5 ft with two players. You want to make the complaint that Jordan fans always go back to one game... well, we're sorry. Not only was it a much more competitive league defensively, teams averaged around 9 3-pointers per game. What is it today? 20? 22? 25? Keep in mind that those are averages. There were games in Jordan's era where both teams on any given night, only shot the ball from outside the ark once or twice. And because of that the NBA started making rules that influenced 3-point shots and shooting the ball on any possession within 7 seconds. (Mind you, I know the 7 deconds thing is analytics, but rule changes over the past 30 years have indeed incentivized quick possessions) In the 90s, and before, pro basketball used the clock as a strategy. NBA today: Iso.. fast breaks.. stretched d.. lacking footwork and fundamentals.. Early 2000s NBA and prior: Defense.. use the clock.. more defense.. heavy pick and roll.. defense.. interior and mid-range shooting.. did I say defense already.. low post footwork and fundamentals. Today's game is a rush for more possessions. Yesteryears game was all about shutting down every possession your opponent had.

It's not just the eye test, but MJ owns Lebron in all of the advanced metrics as well, like efficiency, usage, box +/-, value over replacement, true shooting %, and he played more games every season on avg, was a much better playoff performer and much better in clutch time, shot over 40% from 3-pt once he focused on that aspect after 1991, was better on defense, when put into the point guard position during the 80s he averaged a triple double, has 9 first team all defense, defensive POY, 6 Finals MVPs 5-6 regular season MVPs, led the league in scoring what 10-12 seasons while also being an elite defender, playing more minutes and games every year...and did all of that in 9 fewer seasons than Lebron. MJ had no flaws in his game after the 1991 season. Lebron has never been good at mid-range, free throws, defense, he flops, he whines and complains, MJ had to play against defense...etc. Finally, MJ had a determination and tenacity that Lebron lacks. MJ was a killer competitor. Lebron never had the will and grit that MJ had. And MJ played more 50+ win teams in the playoffs than Lebron. The only thing Lebron has is more total games played and thus more total career stats even though all of his per game or efficiency and percentages are lower...and 4-6 in the Finals including abyssmal playoff performances. The comparison is an illusion.

The key to "The G.O.A.T." is that there could only ever be one. There is no your G.O.A.T or my G.O.A.T... there is only THEE G.O.A.T. And when you say things like, "but I didn't watch Michael Jordan's career." It means you don't have enough skin in this game to call anybody a G.O.A.T. You need to stop pretending that you know all about basketball because you've watched it for about 10 years. I have a little bit better than 3 times that amount of experience. People who got to watch Michael Jordan's career have forgotten more about basketball than you've even learned yet. If you want to come into this and call it a learning experience.. that's fine. But making definitive statements when you are not in the know is a level of ignorance that only LeBron fans can display.

Here's the thing with the modern NBA and why Mike would be so successful, one, hand checking was removed which opens him up even more, two, you don't have the big guys as centers anymore and they are not allowed to stay in the paint like they used to, three, everything is called as a foul now (pathetic) and four, MJ hustled is azz off at BOTH ends of the floor delivering some really solid defense.

good video and comments on it. For me as someone who has seen both play its Jordan. Two wild stats for you. 1 Jordan was more likely in a playoff game to score over 50 then under 20. 2 Jordan is the only player to be all defense team 1, Scoring title, mvp, Fmvp, and the championship in 1 season and he did it 4 times

Jordan had like one percentage point less than LeBron for career 3pt %, and that wasn't even his game... If people's argument for LeBron is because he can "shoot 3s better than Jordan", that's pretty silly tbh. LeBron is just as average of a 3pt shooter as MJ, except MJ barely took 3s in general and had no other weaknesses. 6-0 with 6 finals mvps on top of tons of other accolades, 2 gold medals, and an NCAA championship? C'mon man. LeBron only just now caught up to Jordan in 30 pt games and he's played wayyyyyyyy longer than Jordan, in a league that doesn't allow defense... C'mon people. There is no debate. The debate isn't for the GOAT, the debate is for 2nd place. I do believe LBJ is 2nd imo, but I'd listen to debates for other legends tbh. I'm not pointing any of this at you btw. I'm just venting tbh lol. But the comment should help you with the algorithm.

As someone who has been a basketball fan since the mid 1970's, it just dumbfounds me that LeBron is even mentioned as an all-time GOAT. He is an outstanding player and one of the best. He would be in my top 10. But he is also the most overrated player in NBA history. He has played half of his career during the NBA's weakest era since the 1970's. He flops, plays little-to-no defense, complains/whines about any physical contact, and has choked in too many important games. Just one of those weakneses disqualifies him from even being top 5. Michael has no weaknesses whatsoever and accomplished everything he's done during the NBA's Golden Era (80's/90's), the most talent-rich and physically demanding period in league history. He was competing night in and night out against Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, James Worthy, Clyde Drexler, Hakeem Olijowan, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Steve Nash, Alvin Robertson (probably the best overall defender in NBA history), Reggie Miller, Isiah Thomas, Bill Lambear, Kevin McHale, Dr. J, Moses Malone, Maurice Cheeks, Allen Iverson, Bernard King, Domonique Wilkens, Alonzo Mourning, Shaqille O'Neil. And these are just the ones I can think of off of the top of my head. So anyone who thinks that LeBron is even close to being the GOAT of all time is not being objective or knows very little about basketball. Michael Jordan is definitely the GOAT given his accomplishments, the most talented time period he played in, and being the only player in history to have no flaws at all in his game.

12:47 You can name all the other players that you want.. and it doesn't matter. This is what's known as the "downplaying his competition argument" and it's really weak. You know what it means for LeBron to throw down over Giannis, Embiid, Joker... but you don't have the slightest clue what it meant for Jordan to throw down over Ewing, Robinson, Shaq, Dream, or Mutumbo. Your argument makes no sense. Every last name I mentioned here was a better Defender under the basket than every player in today's NBA. What you're trying to say is that Jordan played against plumbers, mailmen, and construction workers... by the time Jordan came into the NBA, there were only a few players who came out of high school. The 99.999% of other players in the NBA... had a minimum of 3 years college ball. And most of them had 4 years. What you're trying to do is what the fans of Jordan's era we're saying about Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West and John Havlicek.. so on and so forth. Those guys play it against plumbers, mailmen, and construction workers. Because, objectively speaking, they did. So when you say Jordan's competition was weak... you're not making any sense. Every last name that you can cherry-pick from today's NBA... doesn't play 10 years in Jordan's era. They don't average more than 20 points with the exception of a couple of those names, and they would be manhandled from ark to bucket. If LeBron played in Mike's era, he'd be just another name on the list of players who didn't get a chip because of Michael Jordan. He definitely doesn't make it to a 21 year career. He definitely doesn't make it to the top of the scoring list.

7:53 You literally just tried to reason LeBron James being the goat because his son is playing in the league. If that was ever a metric to deciding who the greatest of all time is then Rick Barry is the goat. Why not Bill Walton? Both of those guys had children in the NBA. Hell, let's just call Archie Manning the greatest QB ever because two of his sons played in the NFL! Griffey Senior and Junior... Senior must be the goat of baseball!!! If one of Tiger Woods's kids ends up dominating PGA Tours, then Tiger is the goat of golf! I swear... you kids are ridiculous with this nonsense.
