*Important note to add that we missed.* - She was married for 31 years... To a famous millionaire 20 years older than her. After he predictably passed long before her, she is back to dating and very upset at the market. Was she also engaging in ageism, classism, when she chose an older richer man like many women do? Older men bring stability, income, prestige but the downsides are that they also die sooner. Now that that reality has hit her full force, she wants a refund. Boo boo didnt bring a receipt & aint leaving. SOMEBODY CALL SECURITEEHH

As a woman who was told I was ugly on the daily since I was a child until I was 16, very dorky until I was 20 and I kinda sorta got my looks together a bit more, and then it took me another 6 years to convince myself that any guy would ever want to kiss me, this makes me deeply sad. This reinforces the idea that I "wasted my best years", and my best years were the time I was desperately trying to claw back from PTSD. That was my "summer" according to you guys. And now I should rightfully accept that my best "turn has passed", because I had such a great time in my 20s. My life is alright, I'll be fine even if I have to be alone. But it does depress me to think about the fact that I've never been in a relationship at age 30, and I know that's weird, and the fact that it's weird is debilitating and doesn't make me want to get to know new men, cause I'll have to "explain myself". I know you guys are generalizing, but I feel like so often men only consider the POV of the hot women, and then think every woman experiences that, or at least something similar to that. We don't, we really don't.

I’m 25 and I have a VERY similar experience. Never been in a “real” relationship and I can count more times when guys have looked disgusted at me than attractive. Many guys say they prefer girls who’ve had past relationship experiences, but when your dating resume is abysmal because you don’t have a certain look, you feel as if your value stems from your appearance. I didn’t wake up one day and lose self confidence, society did that to me. Now I’m learning to be comfortable existing regardless of how others perceive me because my intrinsic value is what matters.

Yes I think you should accept it. But it’s not some terrible truth, it’s just a fact of life for everyone that no one should take personally. It’s better to detach yourself from how others perceive you than be delusional in my opinion. I believe your battle against PTSD is something I can relate to and that makes me respect you so much more than your level of attractiveness. Something I do want to say though, is that the concept of your “best years” are subjective. Maybe in terms of youthfulness your best years have passed but the toxic relationships you would have attracted in those years would have been the REAL waste of time, not the time you spent healing yourself. The grass is not greener on the other side.

As a woman even I 100% agree with this. I highly doubt she is "invisible" as she claims - she's just not getting as much attention as she used to, but she can't handle that. Instead of reflecting on herself and changing her way of thinking, she is blaming men and society. I think for anyone it can be hard to age. You are not going to get as much attention as in your glory days (whenever that is for you). Enjoy it while it lasts, and accept aging gracefully.
@justsomebird4285
@justsomebird4285 2 жыл бұрын
She doesn’t get the attention from the people she wants. She wants a man as successful and high value as her but can’t have that because men that fit that description have other options. And from those men’s perspectives, younger women are better options. So they have more, and better options than her. This kind of predicament is pretty common for women like her who are attractive and/or very picky, which I have some sympathy for, but it’s even more common for the women that refuse to settle, and would rather spend their youth dodging commitment, and being super promiscuous, which I have less sympathy for them. They can do that, no one will stop them, no one really should. Because at the end of the day it’s their body their choice whether they want to use it for kids or commitment and what not. But when the consequences of that are obvious, they shouldn’t be surprised when they run right into them. Also, I don’t believe women like the ones I just described are inherently like that. I think really western culture just gives them an unrealistic view of how to approach dating and relationships, and puts almost zero emphasis on teaching women what men are interested in and why. Which is why I do feel kind of bad for them; they were never taught any better and usually only learn until it’s too late. Unrealistic expectations of how things should work out and validating them till they get big egos doesn’t work out a lot of the time.

Actually I feel like women do get a rough lot - hear me out... When you think about it a woman's power is in her youth, beauty and fertility - all gifts bestowed on her when she is young and naive; when she does not have the wisdom to use these gifts to the fullest in order to secure long term wellbeing. In times gone by, (patriarchal) society would be there to moderate and guide young women in this regard but not so much these days. On the flipside, a young man is often the invisible one in the room, because young men are generally low status and poor, their raging hormones make them goofy and awkward... and society sees them as disposable. But for a man, the gifts bestowed on him (status and wealth) come later in life when he has the wisdom to make the most of them. I speak in general terms of course - there are stupid older men just as there are ugly young women. So in this regard there is a disparity in the stage of life that biological power is acquired by women vs men, for which women should have some sympathy.

@@sublimeblush What you are not understanding is that women who become "invisible" after a certain age are only beginning to feel what it is like for most men in this world. Study after study shows that women rate men on an S-Curve, a pareto distribution, and see the vast majority of men as ugly... yes, ugly. We have the largest percentage of male virgins under 30 than ever recorded. Marriages are falling due to no fault divorces and the unbelievable disparity between custody and custody payments between men and women. Women clown men who are not at least 6'. Article after article call fat women "plus size" while still referring to fat men as fat. "Plus size women refuse to date fat men" is the typical article relating to this. Body positivity and ageism are only movements for women. Old guys are refused jobs all the time. Just read the stories, or know a guy in tech, and they will tell you stories. Imagine having to work up in a company for years and next thing you know you are training your 22 year old replacement? She married Ric Ocasek, a very unattractive dude who was lucky to be born with extreme creativity and drive. Someone who had to completely build himself up. She was hired to be in their Drive video because she was hot and everybody wanted her. They all had to have years of musical experience, plus innate talent, to be there. The talent alone for that one song and video is more than most could fathom. She was born with amazing looks and lived a life roughly 99% of the population never will, and she is still crying about her life. This is why so many men laugh and find this funny.

Ageism is a thing, and there definitely is pressure for women to look young…but even at her age she’s *still* the standard. That’s why I can’t fully take her seriously, she’s the pinnacle of western beauty even in her old age and wouldn’t have a problem getting attention *at all.* She’s just not getting it from where she wants it, the average looking 50+ year old woman would probably kill to look anything like she does.

Don’t be short too…it’s a wrap…it will take an ENORMOUS amount of money and weight training to dig out of that hole…damn near impossible…look at Bezos, one of the richest people alive and his woman is staring down other dudes like a full course meal in broad day, with cameras everywhere! Being an “ugly” woman is way easier to handle.

I agree as well about ugly girls. That has to be a horrific existence when everything around you is about looks and you have the expectation of a guy approaching you. And if that guy ever finally approaches you, he's going to be 10 times uglier, way older and way more out of shape and possibly earning less money than you--some one you'll have to carry financially. The ONLY thing is say ugly women have in their favor is if they stay in shape, when they get older, they don't seem to age as badly, and in comparison. they seem to look better than their female counterparts who lost their beauty with age.

My guess is... She is not invincible at all. She, like a lot of women just doesnt understand men. She probably wants a man around her age or very slightly younger, AS successful or more successful than she is, driven, competitive, etc. A man like that has options. Thesame way she desires him, he is also desired by the type of women he ACTUALLY wants. Younger women. No matter how much society tries to shame, insult and guilt men into wanting what they naturally don't want, these men will always go for younger. I feel for her. Apparently she was married for years and lost her husband. Sucks. But now she needs to just be realistic. Get what you can get now, try to be content with that... Or stay single.

This chick has a lot of baggage and self-inflicted wounds. She was married to one of the singers from the group The Cars (Ric Ocasek) in 1988 when she was in her 20's and he was in his 40's. In 2018 he wrote this chick out of his will because she refused to take care of him when his health started failing. They were both separated while she planned on divorcing him not knowing he had already wrote her out of the will, thinking she would cash-in. In 2019 he died of heart failure at age 75. Looks like Ric got the last laugh while his crazy wife continuously posts on social media claiming she's a victim.

The fact that at her age , she lacks awareness regarding her ability to attract the men she wants considering her age and what she's experienced, signals a lack of growth and maturity , which is extremely unattractive considering she's had decades to realize this obviously reality

Good point, boys. Us average guys (not the HS quarterback, male model, rock musician etc) are not only invisible but are regarded by women as something horrible they have to scrape off their shoes from early teens to our late 30s. Welcome to OUR world. Fortunately for us, if we acquire some assets and take care of ourselves our dating lives flip 100 % from 40 on.

I think the real issue is she didn’t capitalized on her looks the right way. She didn’t take the time to come up with a plan B. Now at age 50, she still finds her self worth through being man’s arm candy. She should have utilized her youthful days to work on her self esteem, her confidence and self value in other ways. Look at Rihanna, a stunning natural beauty but she’s not getting any younger and music can’t financially sustain her lifestyle. She created several businesses and is now a billionaire! Looks can only get you so far, but this ex model still very beautiful and can definitely find a man. Not all older men want younger woman or if they do, it’s usually just a sexual attraction. She should want a man who will truly value her companionship.

She does look really good for someone her age. She took care of herself very well throughout the years. However, if you’re dating for shallow reasons such and looks and money, you’re gonna get treated like a shallow commodity. The reason why happy couples who have been together for decades are still happy is because they have substance to their personalities. She could find not only a partner, but a good kind hearted partner if she dropped the shallow requirements.
