This is my last week here in Australia and I'm a little sad but also so so excited to return back home to England. Spend the week with me as I soak in the Aussie life! Thanks so much for being here and following along on my journey!! Can't wait to see what the future holds!! xx

I've heard of people who have these great imaginations about Australia because of what they read and hear....but when they actually move there, they find it's nowhere as good as they imagined. Have you heard of people who faced this?

Im in the same boat as you. Moved over to Aussie from New Zealand in November 2022 thinking i would make a base and a home here and to escape the authoritarian rule of Jacinda Ardern and her hardline covid policies (which destroyed my small general contracting business). Reality was painfully different. Yes the wages are alot higher than new zealand but the rental crisis and cost of living crisis where taking hold at the time. Alot of employers ignore your job applications (happens to Australian born people too) and the job I did get ended with me angrily walking offsite xmas eve 2023 after being unable to solve a contractual dispute with my manager (he breached the tcs and cs and clauses of my employment contract). Being unable to get another job with stable hours I had no choice but to move back to New Zealand in early 2024.

Looking forward to seeing your Cornwall videos especially being a girl who grew up visiting Cornwall every year with a body board. Fast forward about 15 years I am now taking lessons with a local surf group and have just booked my Cornwall holiday for next June. Would be great to see some videos on advice for newbies on what boards to get

Australia is ok for a holiday if you are very rich. Otherwise it is a shithole. All the nice things that it has to offer are out of reach as you will most likely need to work long hours and everything is extremely expensive starting with rent prices which are basically extortionate. You pay thousands per month to live in deliric shacks. If you are very rich I say Australia is 9/10. If you are average/poor 3/10.

Surf in Sydney isn’t that good! Defo had better surfs up the coast!! So yeah I guess Sydney disappointed me with the surf and I dunno why but the waves here feel way more powerful! X

@@erikawhitesurf In winter time the surf can be up to 5 metres high . It friends the time of year . I never really seen any good surf in the UK . It just depends the time of year . The same thing in Hawaii too !

I’ve also just moved back and bought a nice flat in London. I’m back here for a couple of weeks finalising everything in Sydney, but can’t wait to get back. My move was much bigger thank yours as I have three kids in tow, but have landed back quite nicely. I have missed the banter in the UK and having little chats in the shops!
