Just bouncing back in to say Hi. Congratulations on your promotion. I just drove 90 minutes (because I live in BFE Western KY. They act like it's still 1960 here.) Regardless, I just got signed up for TWIC today. Setup my MSC account. Money is tight right now, but photographed and finger printed. I'm on the path my friend.

Whats up Mike I'm currently waiting on my MMC renewal after my tour on the Wally Schirra (I would dodge it if you can but I work in supply so maybe your experience would be different in engineering)

Quick questions if you have the time. If you already have a video just shoot me a link. 1.) How is the food on the ship? I know it saves bills not buying groceries and packing your own. 2.) Is there a lot of down time? Enough to study college classes or Mariner studies while on board? I know you have time to film and edit videos. Just getting in the right head space before I apply.

Food varies ship to ship. Well better to sat cook to cook. Downtime ? Plenty.

Buts its added on top of an unlimited plan. So i pay 100 in the states for unlimited. But on the ship in port ill pay 200 if were in port for 10 days.

If yah got all yah credentials such as Twic,pass,Mmc,med cert you are clear to apply to cruise jobs, tug vessel jobs, msc, or Siu only thing is Entry Level Or just OS May not be available for most of these companys out here, im in the same situation and also 23...Able Seaman might be available once you get seatime somewhere but if your mmc is only endorsed as entry level good luck and just keep looking...

I have all those and I didn't know it was so hard to get a job in this industry
@MikeMills15 ай бұрын
Yeah as I stated before it's not that it's hard. It's just uou have to wait it out. If companies aren't hiring for entry levels you have to wait until they are.

att is 10 dollars a day. But its only for 10 days. After that its free.

Yo bro I wanna be an electrician on a ship and that’s all I know rn what should I do to get started?
@MikeMills15 ай бұрын
@AndrewSedeno if you are serious. Find your nearest maritime school. The type where you can pay and take classes and take the fireman/watertendng class and the refer/elec class. And once you complete those you still need to get your 6 months of seatime so you'll come in as a wiper and then right after that you can go straight to electrician. BUT this all depends on if a company is hiring. But with your credentials that I told you to get they will pick you up as a wiper simply to put you as an electrician in most cases.

What’s up Mike been watching ur vids for the past 2yrs and I just turned 23 and stressed if this is for me and wanted to ask how long is the process I got my twic sent in my mmc doc and wanted to know what next do I go straight to work or is the process longer thx great vid 🔥
@MikeMills15 ай бұрын
Once yoh have all your credentials you just have to wait for a company to be hiring and apply. Try going to the siu academy and getting a job that way.

What's up Mikes i didn't know its so hard to get work with my MMC and Twic card
@q.u.e.20195 ай бұрын
@ryanwoollery1547 need more than mmc and twic sir but if have everything yes Its A Pain Getting Out There To make This typa Money But fr fr all you need is seatime somewhere that could hire you or Go through siu and they can find you a ship
@MikeMills15 ай бұрын
Its not that it's hard. It's just timing. Companies that take entry level positions hire and close hiring all the time..just have to keep checking and make sure you are ready when they open Up again
@HauntedByHeroesX5 ай бұрын
Just a heads up, look up Inland waterways careers with your TWIC card. It will get you time to stack before heading to sea. That's what I'm doing, because I can't afford the $1K on my credentials up front, cause of all these damn bills and groceries. Tug/Barge/River boat. Good luck man.

And thats 200 a month
@MikeMills13 ай бұрын
Is that an additional 200 on top of your normal bill or overall?
@ethanstacy54733 ай бұрын
@@MikeMills1 No its 200 total if youre overseas and only if you use it pasy 10 days. So lets say your in port only two days. The phone bill at the end of the month would be 120. Because its regular unlimited data from the states. Which is 100 a month for att. Plus the two days of international usage. Which would be 10 dollars a day.
@ethanstacy54733 ай бұрын
Sorry any days after 10 days of usage international for the month is free.
