For most of the characters, they aren’t just trying to grab power for selfish reasons (except for Otto lol), they’re trying to get power so they can secure their family’s future safety. The whole “children are a weakness” line is what I think best conveys this message. Especially taking Rhaenyra as an example, her motivation surrounding the throne was initially tied only to a desire for her father to value her. Once she had children, her motivations grew more desperate and determined, because of her fear for their safety

She was the love of Jon snow life! What a beautiful way to introduce a character and also a love story blossomed before our eyes. Both respected each others force of nature and power and yet they have this tender and peeling away the core type of look that goes beyond the ordinary and obvious. Love it
